We’re a little late to this remix, but it’s a brilliantly crafted near metaphysical experience, and we’re utterly in love with the track. Too Much comes off of Australian band Tora’s debut album Take A Rest, which dropped last summer. It’s a soft rippling, mournful crackling electro-soul gem, and fellow Aussies Fortunes. have given the track a transcendental workover on their official edit. They give it a dusky garage vibe with their shuffling remix, a dreamy chill yet ever shifting masterpiece. It’s a bit like James Blake gone Four Tet or Burial, but with a more vibrant and soulful veneer. The remix is available from iTunes, here.

It’s fortuitous whenever a new Fortunes. track arrives, as we’ve long learned from the Australian duo’s prior servings of their gooey electro soul and creamy R&B funk. And boy are the pair extra satin swooning on their new tune, Daddies, which can be found on a new mixtape called Thirty Days Of Yes that supports the Australian/New Zealand LGBTQ community in light of the marriage equality debate going on over on that side of the world. Plush and fleecy Daddies is a dusky late night suitor that will certainly set the mood. It’s out on Future Classic, here. Watch a video for the song below.

Future Classic signed Australian duo Fortunes. has been setting the scene on fire with their ravishing brand of electro soul and R&B funk. Last single 501′s made an indelible imprint in the new music scene, and I have a feeling Fortune.’s name is going to be on the tips of even more avid fans’ tongues as we progress ever further into 2017. Today, the pair return with a creamy, gooey consistency on Focus, a seductive drawler that burns ever so slowly and tenderly. But that subtle intimacy and gently surging production build to a pressing and urgent climax. This sensual intoxicating lullaby is taken from the duo’s forthcoming Undress EP due out April 28th. Undress will be available on a limited edition 12″ vinyl, available to pre-order, here. Fortunes. will also head out on tour in support of the release across Australia in May.

New Zealand duo Fortunes. were inspired by worn blue jeans when they created their single 501′s, but the funk and future imbued tune couldn’t be more elegant and snazzy. 501′s goes extra dusky swooning and textured mesmeric on a phenomenal remix by Australia’s salute. If What So Not went darker and more silky smoldering or downtempo ambient, it might sound something like this tactile bristling yet soft swooning track. salute’s official remix is fuzzy coarse, but it bulges and curls with a twilight dreaminess. You can stream or purchase the original, which is out on Future Classic, here.

Future Classic dropped the latest Fortunes. after signing the IHM praised duo, and the Conor and Barnaby cannot be more sexy swooning than they are on the Australia via New Zealand pair’s snazzy new jam. 501′s may be inspired by worn, tattered jeans, but this song woos with jazzy elegance. Its funk imbued, resplendent pacing production reminds me of old school hip hop, permeated with future beat accents and plenty of steamy Casanova charm. Fortunes. will be touring Australi in November with special guest Moon Holiday, details here. Purchase 501′s from major outlets, here.

Some super rad remixes sure surfaced today. We follow up on the killer remix in our last feature with an edit of Penthouse Penthouse and Maribelle’s fizzy sweet jam, About You, by Australian duo Fortunes. This About You is extra steamy, its future R&B bounce more juicy and moist. Fortunes. even adds in an additional verse of their own, fully buttery sublime. The slick dapper remix feels more weighty and earnest compared to the more playful frisky original.

I can listen all day to this new artist on my radar, an Australian act named Allday. He gives fellow Australian act Fortunes.’ song Justin Bieber a smoldering hip hop re-work, one that even includes some fresh new verses. The silken transformation is both simmering seductive and laid back snazzy, a dashing remix that leaves me utterly mesmerized and blissed out. Download Allday’s remix for free, here.

We head over to Melbourne, Australia, for this next melting amalgamation of R&B and soul, a velveteen romancer named Energy from Fortunes. Energy skates and glides its way off the duo’s just released sophomore EP, Jacket. Its ensnaring hip hop beats give the song a shocking heat while its delicately airy vocals cut coolly through that torrid fever. The sultry gem is a free download on Fortunes’ Bandcamp, where you can stream the rest of their Jacket EP.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for Metric’s new album, Pagans In Vegas, out September 18th. Everything we’ve heard from the new release has been fantastic so far, with of course, The Shade being one of my favorite songs this year. Emily Haines and the band have been showcasing a versatile array of sound on the tunes, and the newly revealed Fortunes ventures deeply into darkly edged new wave territory. Fortunes is tensely spellbinding, but then it breaks into untethered, melodic whimsicality, reminding me much of Bowie. Pretty cool stuff, plus it grows on me more with listen.
