I HEART MOOSIQ PREMIERE:

Bristol duo Svelte deliver melodious ambrosia on Lipstick Melts, their third single in a series of striking releases that will lead up to an album in July of 2016. The downtempo electronic pop gem flows luxuriantly with a crisp elegance, gliding smoothly but also skittering with a moody pull. Lipstick Melts glows softly with a haunting beauty, gently accompanied by a trip hop beat and some plush, jazzy opulence. Svelte’s tender, siren like vocals and the mellow, gliding ambiance of Lipstick Melts evokes London Grammar, with a sliver of Massive Attack and some The Night VI, but Svelte’s song is far more sparsely minimalist and gingerly dark. Visit Svelte’s other songs they’ve unveiled from their forthcoming album on their Soundcloud, each as gorgeous and atmospheric as the last. And look forward to the duo’s monthly releases along with me.

Two time Grammy nominated producer Dirty South is about to send you to sonic cloud nine again with his latest, a soaring beauty named Find A Way that features Rudy again on gliding, effortless vocals. As always, Dirty South brings us some of the most sublimely heartrending progressive house on Find A Way. Melt away to the Australian producer’s silken, emotive soundscape and his cathartic drops. For those that hit up Dirty South’s sets at Coachella and Ultra this year, this would be that famous unknown track that people were going crazy about. The uplifting and inspiring track is out now on Dirty South’s own label, Phazing.

Melanie Martinez’s dark electronic pop is an entrapping blend of the twisted macabre and the sugary sweet, a concoction that targets my very heart. There’s hardly a Melanie song I haven’t been able to resist so far, including Pity Party, which even samples Leslie Gore classic It’s My Party. Canada’s XVII takes that shadowy glamour and transforms the electronic pop song into a whopping future bass and trap track brimming with grandeur and majestic stateliness. It’s intensely theatrical, a remix worthy of a contemporary trap version of Phantom Of The Opera, fitting of mysterious masks, lavish costumes, and mystical sets.

It’s always cause for celebration when Keys N Krates drops a new one. The Canadian trio is still one of my favorite electronic and trap production acts, with their SOLOW EP still ranking very high up on my favorite EP lists. I’ve caught them live and watched them command the crowd like a boss so many times over. They now return with a killer taste from an upcoming EP. I Know U is a sensational new treat from the trio, alternating between frenzied intensity and dramatically tense, drawn out moments. It pops, snaps, chops, wobbles, and whirls, whipping up a melancholy hued frenzy in the process. I Know U is out now on Dim Mak and available on iTunes.

If you’re fond of florid electronic music of the most effervescent, bubbly type, then you might be a fan of 2ToneDisco, just like me! The production duo from Arizona recently dropped a dizzying burst of sonic resplendence named Television. Imagine watching the tube and swapping channels like mad, colors flashing, noises chopping in and out, images flickering in rapid succession. 2ToneDisco captures that on Television, by frenetically intermingling nu-disco, future bass, chiptune, and Jersey Club. Within all that is some of the most deliciously pumping horns. Television is a sugary dose of exhilarating caffeine that bounces with an exuberant dose of non-stop animation. I almost want to turn on my TV and start mashing buttons as I listen to the track. Television is a free download, here.

It’s been but a week since I first encountered music by Sweden’s Sapele, who wooed me easily with deep house and R&B jam Looking At You. Now, the producer has released his four track EP, The Day, on Dirty Soul Music, and with it, he proves even further that he has a masterful grasp of combining the moving organic with the soulful electronic. EP track Testify is a deeply pumping, infectiously melodic, and lusciously intoxicating future imbued deep house jam with honeyed R&B vocals. Stream the rest of The Day EP or order it, here.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting a second song from New Jersey pop newcomer FLETCHER since her enchanting, sensational debut single War Paint earlier this summer. It’s saccharine melody, tribal percussion, and lofty spirit is so wonderfully addicting and contagious, reminding me of Ryn Weaver and Foxes. While I continue to wait, I’m more than happy to raise my hands in joy and prance around in euphoria to a magnificently radiant remix by Vancouver production act Young Bombs, who capitalize on the original’s bubbly energy and expand it into a kaleidoscopic, vivid flurry of indie dance extravagance. It’s an uplifting remix the calls for the most colorful war paint and the most massively triumphant celebration. It’ll make you feel like you can overcome anything. Free download, here.

Young producer Memtrix links up with fellow UK producer Spor on a drum and bass thriller aptly named Darkest Hours. Crisp percussion joins an enthralling melody, straggly synths, and intoxicating bass for a dusky roller coaster ride of sonic euphoria, all topped off with breathy, enchanting vocals and hooking back vocals. It’s a killer track both gritty and beautiful. Darkest Hours will be out with B-side Super Trace on September 14th via We Are Lifted. It’s available to pre-order on iTunes.

German producer Mazde dropped his three track collaborative EP with LissA a few days ago on Stoney Road Records, off which I’ve already shared Pitch Black. It’s a striking EP release, available to stream on Soundcloud. New single Dig Deep is a delicate yet emotionally charged electronic track, murmuring ever softly and tenderly with future bass swells. Mazde’s regal production is lifted to restrained but passionate apexes by LissA’s beautiful vocals. Purchase the gorgeous Mazde x LissA EP on iTunes.

A fiery blend of dark electropop, future bass, hip hop, R&B, and soul explodes with bold force on Satisfy, a debut single from a Los Angeles newcomer named MOONZz. It’s quite the eye opening, intoxicating introduction to the new artist, and it screams at us to urgently pay attention to the newcomer. Produced by LA’s Cozyra, Satisfy fuses together the sultry pop of BANKS with the sensual darkness of George Maple, but topped off with the future pop of Purity Ring, the neo-soul of Little Dragon, and the spunk of dancehall Elliphant. Oh, and its all enveloped in some sick trappy beats, too! It’s some spectacular stuff, and I’ll be awaiting more from MOONZz. In the meantime, you can download Satisfy on iTunes.
