Just a few short features ago, we were sharing an immense song from Molly Moore entitled Catch and Release and gushing over its jazzy soulful R&B pop. Now, let’s turn to her beau, progressive soul swooner Brandyn Burnette and his new single, out on esteemed French label Kitsuné. The St. Louis transplant leaves our hearts aflutter with his every smooth and buttery vocals on the resplendent future R&B groover, the first track from Brandyn Burnette’s long awaited debut album which reportedly is on its way soon. Lavish flickering, swanky glimmering Layup showcases some of Brandyn’s best vocals yet. Grab the single, here.

I’m still a little crestfallen that PRXZM has re-located to Los Angeles. It’s a story much too familiar and rampant, since everyone seems to like to make their way out to either Brooklyn or Los Angeles once the world picks up on their talent, but I still love to boast when an up-and-coming artist or band resides right here in my beloved Bay. Let’s take a moment to dissolve into the electronic duo’s second single from their forthcoming Come Alive EP, a slow burning, trap & bass infused electronica/electro-R&B track named Tell Me Something New, richly adorned with dark prowling beats and sultry vocals. PRXZM captures the restless feeling of being obsessed with a new paramour on the track, letting that immensely overwhelming experience materialize with tactile magnificence. Stream/download the voluptuous single, burning guitars and all, here.

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Sara Diamond has more than befriended my ears and enraptured my heart with sultry smoldering Fool, produced by Brody Gillman. The Canadian starlet woos us with her husky soulful voice on the discontent heartbreak ballad, a potent and grandiose outpouring of plush R&B and opulent electro-pop. Jessie Reyez’ fiery embers, Léon’s smoky deep vocals, and BANKS’ dark seduction unite on the moody gripping single, available via iTunes, here

19 year old Danish wunderkind Maximillian continues to drum up endless praise and growing adoration with the artist’s creamy melting, moody simmering music on new single Hollow Days. The great Dane hit the scene last year with songs like Higher, Feelings, and Strangers to great success. Maximillian exudes vulnerability and honesty on the latest addition to his growing catalog of sensual haunting R&B pop songs, so heavily drenched in atmospheric smoldering electronica. His velvety crooning and a striking melodic turn on the track melts us to the core, keeping us warm through the cool foggy days of spring that seem to stretch on forever here in San Francisco. How can there be any “hollow days” when we’re accompanied by Maximillian? Hollow Days can also be streamed on Spotify, here.

Three weeks have flown by since Couros alighted back on our radar with a song named Young. Though we’re still stuck on that scintillating effusion of electronica and R&B, we find ourselves thoroughly consumed by the London-based producer’s magnificent new song Undertone. His production is flawless on the lustrous swooning track, which features rich summer melodies and silky chord patterns. Wistful yet euphoric, Undertone swirls and swells with tactile warmth. Golden luscious Undertone is nothing short of spectacular, a bedazzling display of lavish electronica and sensuous R&B pop. Plus, singer songwriter Alyss’ sultry sleek crooning is outstanding. Undertone is taken from Couros’ upcoming 5-track EP on PMR Records.

Easton Schirra is a Texas-born, Los Angeles-based singer songwriter who’s floored us with his exceptional voice on his phenomenal first single. The multi-talented artist has explored his creative tendencies through various mediums in the past. He’s even garnered success shooting the likes of Kendall & Kylie Jenner, Charli XCX, and Issa Rae as an accomplished photographer. But he soon found his musical passion when he started toying with songwriting while living in New York City, and we’re all the more grateful and fortunate for it. A love for Earth, Wind & Fire as well as an upbringing in jazz choir, coupled with his passion for contemporary R&B and new wave ambient tracks, has resulted in Blue Love, a truly intoxicating electro R&B track about drowning in love and the swell of emotions that ensues. We hold our breaths with Easton as we sink into this roiling, undulating ocean, an intertwining network of sleek falsettos, glassy warbling synths, and deep rumbling beats. Blue Love overwhelms our senses, reminding us of our own obsessions and how easy it is to spiral into the unknown when gripped in the unmerciful talons of love.

At first glance, the title of Weslee’s new single might be mistaken as “sweet dreams”, but this dream of a tune from the British duo is steamy and hot, with a fierce and foxy strut. Sweat Dreams is a future funk meets R&B pop jam brimming with sultry vibes and hip-swaying beats. It’s a must for fans of Nao and AlunaGeorge’s dance-inducing electro and torrid sizzling R&B soul. You can follow Weslee and their growing compendium of outstanding songs on Spotify, here.

If you happened to miss out on Bishat’s latest single, there’s no need to fret, the Swedish artist, whose lithesome voice and opulent R&B pop tends to remind me of both Aluna from AlunaGeorge and Robyn, has shared a music video for the immaculate tune, whose splendorous soundscape also evokes Seinabo Sey. Dream About Me is lifted from her debut EP, a 4-song mixtape entitled Q417. Bishat’s dark soulful pop, much influenced by contemporary R&B, more than shines on the release. Her new video for Dream About Me is as intimate and dramatic as the song itself. They explore the fear of change in a relationship, the uncertainty of the future, and the insecurities that creep up. You can find Q417 on iTunes, here.

One of the first things I did this morning after I got up was listen to new Lykke Li. Yes, you read that right. New. Lykke. Li. Pretty huge deal, huh? The beloved Swedish indie pop luminary teased us recently with a cryptic clip on her socials, and now she’s announced a guest talent studded new album named ‘so sad so sexy’, out June 8th on RCA Records. As if our hearts weren’t pumping hard with excitement just from this news, Lykke has also dropped two brand new songs from the album. ‘hard rain’, which you can stream above, was even produced by illustrious musician (and ex-Vampire Weekend member) Rostam. It’s a sparse rhythmic captivator, with very Rostam-like drifting synths and soft beats. Lykke Li also shared a second song named ‘deep end’, produced by Jeff Bhasker, Malay, and T-Minus, which sees her shifting her sound towards more of an R&B inflected pop tone. New album ‘so sad so sexy’ will also feature Aminé and more. You can pre-order, here.

Los Angeles based singer songwriter and producer BOYBOY grabbed a hold of our ears with his snazzy seductive single Afraid last year. And now he’s done it again with ALRITE THO, a moodier synth-driven futuristic pop piece from the self titled full length album he just debuted earlier this month. Synth whizzing R&B pop and pellucid electro combine to create an effervescent swooner topped off with BOYBOY’s entrancingly gossamer voice. ALRITE THO is a hypnotic, reflective foray, one that leads us into the arms of pure sonic bliss. It gives us an autobiographical narrative which details getting through a very difficult time in a relationship, all the while assuring us that everything is alright, too. ALRITE THO is available, here.
