HONNE and Kill J melted me straight through to my core yesterday when I stumbled upon a new track that involves both those incredible projects. If you’ve listened to HONNE’s debut album Warm On A Cold Night, then you should be much familiar with the fact that the LP closes with a dance leaning song named FHKD, a transcendental cut of reflective gliding, cool atmospheric electro soul. Turns out, FHKD is one of HONNE’s own favorites, and they always wanted to get a good feature on it. So, who have they linked up with for a new version of FHKD? None other than other worldly, wildly creative Danish experimental pop artist KILL J. Her uniquely ethereal voice adds a celestial quality to FHKD, a marvelous contrast to HONNE’s creamy depth. You can purchase this brilliant new version of FHKD from various outlets, here. HONNE’s debut album Warm On A Cold Night is out now via Atlantic Records.

Though I’m enjoying sneaking in some blogging and music sharing on this lovely Friday morning in between work tasks, there’s certainly a part of me that wishes I could be outside right now, hiking, exploring a beach, or heck.. even balling at the local park. But I don’t think that’s the sort of “Ballin” Bibi Bourelly is referring to on her sassy new R&B jam. Ballin starts out like a blues song as Bibi Bourelly laments about being fired from Old Navy and being pestered by her landlord. This snazzy tune is simplistic and intimate. We focus in on Bibi Bourelly’s tale, and the emotions that exude from her raconteur expertise create much rapport. She’s that girl next door with the same troubles, the same problems, the same issues. Except she has the ability to sing her heart out about them. Balling is a stripped down gem that evokes some of my favorite Alessia Cara moments. Clean acoustics and an incredible voice alongside a gently subdued soundscape can have such a powerful effect when pieced together flawlessly. Ballin will be on Bibi Bourelly’s forthcoming EP, Free The Real: Part 2.

In case you haven’t heard, long time Sacramento dark electronic outfit Sister Crayon, the same duo who featured on The Glitch Mob’s last album, are now known as Rituals Of Mine. This transformation of sorts came about after some personal loss in the life of one of the members. As Rituals Of Mine, Terra and Dani have begun to unleash some incredible new music. They’ve also revealed a music video that pays homage to Oakland for their song Ride Or Die. Ride Or Die is a silver tongued, serpentine winding fusion of R&B, hip hop, and minimalist electronica. It’s a shiver inducing, transfixing listen that feels gritty and candid despite its pristine smooth velour. For another taste of the duo’s new material as Rituals Of Mine, stream glitch hop enthralling Devoted below, which also happens to be the title track from a debut LP that just dropped this morning on Warner. You can purchase the Devoted LP from iTunes

We haven’t heard from Norway’s Mr Little Jeans all year long, and I was beginning to miss her far too much. Thankfully, the enchanting artist, who first captivated me several years back with that transcendental Arcade Fire cover (still one of the best ever), has broken her silence. This fall, Mr Little Jeans will embark on a five week North American headline tour that brings her right here to San Francisco. She’s also announced a brand new EP named FEVERS, and most importantly, Mr Little Jeans has revealed a song off of it. Prepare yourself for some dark droning, beat crackling euphoria as Mr Little Jeans spins us around with a beautiful synthpop song named Stitches. Mr Little Jeans delights us with a sound simultaneously dark glowering and warm nostalgic, as contradictory as that might seem. It’s an overwhelming effect fully bewitching and intoxicating. Stitches is out now on iTunes. New EP FEVERS will be out October 21st via Nettwerk Records. Click here to learn more about Mr Little Jeans forthcoming fall tour.

October is going to begin in a rather epic fashion. Not only do I get to see my favorite trip hop and electro-gaze band headline the Fox Theater in Oakland on October 5th, but that very same band, Phantogram, will be dropping their eagerly anticipated new album THREE the Friday after the show! It’s going to be exciting hearing the new material live before the album arrives. We have, after all, already fallen hard for so many tracks revealed off of THREE. And I have a feeling the costumes, lights, and stage persona prepared for Phantogram’s new tour are going to be over the top imaginative. You’re Mine is Sarah and Josh’s latest treat from the LP, an abrupt throbbing pulse of glitchy soulful trip pop. If you haven’t ordered your copy of THREE yet, snag it here on iTunes.

This lustrous shimmering, sensual grooving tune may be named “Can’t Remember How It Feels”, but it’s bursting at the seams with luscious euphoric, seductive flickering “feels”. Can’t Remember How It Feels is Danish trio CHINAH’s latest heart quickening slice of flushed glimmering R&B accented synthpop. It’s decadent and luxuriant, sumptuous and delectable, undoubtedly one of the band’s best and most addictive tunes to date. If you’ve yet to get on CHINAH’s music despite our constant praise, and you happen to love WET, Shura, and Jessie Ware, you’d better get caught up, now.  Check out more of CHINAH’s music over at Soundcloud.

French-British cousing duo POSTAAL just unleashed a music video for their R&B soul inflected electronic aria City Lies, which features mesmeric vocals by British rapper Jelani Blackman. Starring French actress Lola Le Lann, this cinematic black and white video is an appropriately noir shadowy and gripping opaque companion to somber captivating, gospel soaring City Lies. Though deeply meditative, City Lies boasts elastic rousing chords and glamorously opulent production. The scintillating song comes from POSTAAL’s highly regarded debut EP, AA1, which arrived during the summer.

Today brings splendid news for Crystal Fighters fans like me. The London based Balearic folk collective will be releasing their third album very soon! On October 21st, Everything Is My Family arrives on Play It Again Sam / [PIAS], and it includes this resplendent jam, Ways I Can’t Tell. The song, which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, is a verdant mountain of uplifting alt dance. Crystal Fighters even spins us about with some drum and bass rolls on this lively spirited new tune. I’m so ready for a tropical electro-folk rave now, if such a thing even exists.
