Signing off for the moment with the brand new video from New York banger making duo The Chainsmokers for their uber fun new single Kanye, which features SirenXX on some gliding, endearing vocals. Kanye is the boys’ second original single, and, as I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned previously, I find myself loving this one more than #SELFIE, despite #SELFIE’s monumental success. I had the pleasure of emailing back and forth a few times with the fellas the other night and they seem to agree with my choice in picking Kanye over #SELFIE, though #SELFIE is loads of fun, too. I’d like to congratulate them again on the widespread success they’ve found after #SELFIE. It’s always such a warming feeling to watch an act I’ve supported early on make it big. Watch the entertaining video below, and get ready for Kanye’s chorus to reverberate in your head for days on end, in a feel good, luminously uplifting sort of way.

Fresh on my radar this week is a producer out of Los Angeles named Alexander Mendoza, who can really put out some high energy ragers. He has a solo EP coming out soon named Libre, and I’m completely taken by the highly textured and endlessly fun Bwa Maré, a colossally colorful jam. Mendoza also unveiled another Libre track this week, named Church Bells, a more melodic and progressive tune that features vocals by Sam Fischer. His Libre EP will be out very shortly on September 2.

I’m really hopping into the super fun electronic treats now, to welcome the beginning of a sure to be fantastic weekend (especially here in America, where we have a holiday on Monday). Flux Pavilion was one of my early dubstep favorites back in the day, and I still have a special place in my heart for Cracks. Of course, the dubstep power producer has put out plenty of great electronic tracks since, including Freeway, off his EP from a year ago. Flux Pavilion has teamed up with another power electronic producer, Kill The Noise, on this wicked remix of Freeway. It’s an updated version that carries some of the sounds du jour of now… which, of course, would be 808s and trap. There will be a bevy of other remixes from Freeway coming soon, and they’ll be released together on the Freeway Remix EP in October.

I tend to be drawn to Brooklyn producer Sweater Beats work. He’s also splendid live, with the last time I caught him being his opening set at a sold out, Chet Faker headlined show. His future trap and bass music is so hypnotic and delightful. On Sweater Beats’ latest piece, he remixes Kastle’s Anything’s Possible, which features Lotti. It’s as dramatic and intense as I’d expect. Sweater Beats will be heading out on tour this fall with Chance The Rapper. That should be a very dope lineup to catch.

I’m on a roll with the London acts this afternoon. Girlfriends, an incredibly infectious song by another soulful crooner, Joel Compass, has been remixed. The Linier Bootleg leaves the song’s catchy hooks in place, but there’s plenty of bounce and buoyancy to the new rendition created by the UK production duo.
