It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know this next one is an epic track, even if you haven’t listened to it yet. After all, it brings together the talented expertise of Seattle dubstep/electro prodigy Seven Lions, Austin luminaries Tritonal, and NYC dubstep/electro connoisseurs Kill The Noise, AND it features breathtaking vocals by LA chanteuse HALIENE, too! We find ourselves racing our way towards a beautiful “horizon” on the plumed wings of this majestic and grand opus. Mellifluous yet heavy, smooth rolling yet resolute, this four way collaboration fuses electro house, dubstep, pop, future bass, and even drum & bass to give us a cornucopia of scintillating feels. Horizon can also be streamed and purchased, here.

I’m always excited when a new Machinedrum track surfaces, much less one that’s a remix of one of the tracks off Robotaki’s excellent EP, Science, which just dropped last month. The EP closer, which features City Fidelia, is a rousing blend of hip hop and electronica. Travis Stewart of Machinedrum turns Satisfied on its head by infusing it with loads of neon glistering, synth surging glitch hop energy on his slick shuddering, glossy quivering edit. If you’ve yet to take in Robotaki’s Science EP, stream the release in full, here.

Just the title Time, Real & Imaginary sends me spiraling into an episode of deep reflection and profound meditation. Listening to Time, Real & Imaginary, however, is even more intensive of an enlightening ordeal. What’s even more mind blowing is the fact that this introspective future bass opus comes from a 16 year old producer named Jaron. Imagine k?d’s already expansive and scopic electro house/future bass but multiply those aspects ten-fold and tone down the high-voltage jolts. Jaron’s exquisite orchestral trap composition brings us halcyon moments as well as near spiritual moments of heightened awareness and comprehension. Time, Real & Imaginary is crafted out of deep wisdom despite the producer’s young age. It’s incredibly evocative and beautiful, and a sweet moment of respite from the noise all around us. Jaron brings what really matters into focus. Time, Real & Imaginary is a free download, here.

Justice’s We Are Your Friends is a French house classic that’s more than survived the test of time since it first dropped in 2002. It takes some guts to take on such a song for a remix, but production brothers TWO LANES more than prove their mettle once again as they give us an exhilarating update by turning the track into a rambunctious whirring, bass romping spectacular. Seismic thrusts, percolating jabs, and vigorous surges leave us gasping for air on the blowout trap and future bass edit. Download TWO LANES’ remix, here.

RL Grime is what I’d consider production royalty. The WeDidIt collective member has been a blazing pioneer in the trap, grime, and bass scene since 2011, and it was just over a month ago when he released an unexpectedly melodic and ethereal single with Daya named I Wanna Know, shedding his raucous jarring grittiness of yore. Los Angeles producer Kaivon, who previously dropped our jaws with his dramatic remix of Flume classic Insane, takes us on a propulsive odyssey with his take on the beautiful RL Grime track. We go on a life-changing journey with the producer as he vaults us to breathtaking apexes with his dynamic drops and expansive future bass/chill trap on the exultant remix. Kaivon’s I Wanna Know remix is a free download, here.

KLOUD more than satisfied us last month with the mysterious production project’s wicked original, Satisfied, which reminded us of some of our favorite Nero and Flux Pavlion classics, updated with the vigor of contemporary trap music. The cloaked producer has been making waves lately with a five track release fleshed out with his prior well-received releases, as well as a new title track named Burn Me. It’s a smooth stuttering electro trap dazzler with contagious melodies and a whole lot of high voltage verve. KLOUD has truly set us on fire with his incendiary track. Keep that flame blazing by taking in KLOUD’s glorious releases, here.

Historically, Bonnie and Clyde were notorious criminals, yet famed legends… but there’s another distinguished duo named BONNIE X CLYDE who’s well worthy of our obsession these days. The vocal bass duo continue to mesmerize and thrill us with their brand of cinematic future bass on The Unknown. Beautifully haunting vocals, reminiscent of early BROODS, Echos, and

XYLØ, pull us into an inky world full of exciting mystery and intrigue. BXC explain: “This track was inspired by the unknown. That feeling of being unsure about what’s coming, what’s next, what things will look like in the future & not being fully sure of what will happen. Through this song we encourage you not to fear the unknown & just go for it. Whatever it is in life you are passionate about or truly enjoy, give it your all.” Stream/download The Unknown, here.

Though Cymba and Victoria Rojas are both new on our radar, we’ve been convinced by their song together that we need to follow both the artists closely going forth. Cymba, a production project from the windy city of Chicago, offers up dusky plinking, haute enchanting future bass and chill trap on Lost, whilst fellow Chi-town talent Victoria Rojas turns in sweetly soothing, honeyed and supple vocals on the endearing track. If this is what being lost feels like, then sign me up, I don’t want to ever be found again! Lost can also be streamed/downloaded via alternate outlets, here.

Apparently, Khamsin’s “way” is also our way. The French producer has released his much-anticipated new single, My Way, featuring long time IHM favorite MOONZz on stellar vocals. And the track’s melodic trap and high-wire future bass is exactly the type of dynamic electronica and pop we love. Intensive percussion, thrilling drops, and intricate instrumentals embellish the magnificent song. Khamsin, who’s also a member of electronic super group Slow Hours, has expertly blended live instrumentals (those smooth guitar licks, wow) with a vividly animated future bass sound. MOONZz vocals are beautiful over Khamsin’s whimsical soundscape. Stream/download My Way, here.

Just a few short features ago, we were sharing an immense song from Molly Moore entitled Catch and Release and gushing over its jazzy soulful R&B pop. Now, let’s turn to her beau, progressive soul swooner Brandyn Burnette and his new single, out on esteemed French label Kitsuné. The St. Louis transplant leaves our hearts aflutter with his every smooth and buttery vocals on the resplendent future R&B groover, the first track from Brandyn Burnette’s long awaited debut album which reportedly is on its way soon. Lavish flickering, swanky glimmering Layup showcases some of Brandyn’s best vocals yet. Grab the single, here.
