Los Angeles indie alt pop trio Sir Sly is gearing up to release their debut album You Haunt Me on September 16, via Cherrytree/Interscope. As the day approaches, they’re unveiling some new tunes, and the latest treat is the title track off the album, an infectious, upbeat anthem, almost as catchy as their gritty song Gold, which first placed them square on my music map a year ago. Revisit Gold below.

I’m pretty fond of this song, The Setup, by Australia’s Favored Nations, so I’m sharing it again now that there’s a music video for it. The song reminds me greatly of Bear Hands, a band I dig a lot. The Setup was featured on the soundtrack for GTA 5, if some of you gamers find it very familiar. The funk and dance punk flavored song is so incredibly catchy and punchy.

London quintet Eliza and the Bear unveiled a new single on BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe show earlier today, and it’s not available for our listening pleasure! The new track is named Light It Up, and as the name foretells, its a bright, uplifting alt pop tune with a touch of Eliza and the Bear’s folksy pop style. The optimistic, joyful gem is also the title track off their new EP, coming August 3 on Mi Familia Music. Eliza and the Bear will embark on a UK tour come September.

Here’s a grooving rock jam for all the fans of The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys, particularly ones who are gaga over Alex Turner’s deep baritone vocals. Party At The Pharmacy is an indie rock band out of Bergen, Norway. They released their debut single, Violet Coloured Sunset, a couple days ago in the biggest Norwegian music magazine. On top of the whimsical name, which I dig a lot, these guys sound superbly solid on the deeply satisfying tune. Sometimes, I really need tgat dose of guitar heavy music, and this sultry one fits the bill and beyond.

Alright, I need to run out of here, because I’m going to see Arcade Fire tonight (whoop whoop, oh did I mention I met Win Butler last night), but I’m going to leave you with one more treat. Last week, I shared an infectious, upbeat, urban flavored UK house tune named I Know by newcomer Shift K3Y. Now, check out this intoxicating, pitchy remix by Los Angeles duo Bee’s Knees. It’s a refix that’s right up my alley, since I love futuristic bass and textured, haunting atmosphere with an abundance of chill trap vibe.
