I HEART MOOSIQ PREMIERE:

Euphoria is an apt song title considering how FMLYBND’s new song is about to make you feel. It’s also appropriate for how overjoyed I am to share their new track. You see, the band, from Santa Barbara, is one of my most favored emerging acts. This fond regard has only been heightened by the FMLYBND show I was lucky enough to catch a few weeks ago at Popscene in San Francisco. They brought the house down with their animated, vivacious set. The crowd surged, leapt, and bound to every beat of every song, fully inebriated on FMLYBND, even going as far as crowd surfing in a space which normally doesn’t see that sort of action.

After enrapturing us with several sensational releases this year, including a cover of the Pixies’ Where Is My Mind that rivals, if not tops, the best of the plentiful covers from across the decades, they continue on their song a month path and regal us once again, with magnificent Euphoria.

Euphoria is an enthralling alt and synthpop anthem full of vigor. Unlike what we’ve heard so far from FMLYBND this year, its ravishing lead vocals are delivered by the female member of the band, Mac Montgomery’s wife Braelyn (hence the name FMLYBND). She also showcases her masterful song writing talent on the track. Braelyn’s voice is an excellent fit for Euphoria’s soaring melody and near dizzying, twirling energy. Warm, swelling synths and a dance ready cadence conjure some Passion Pit innuendo, but Euphoria is also doused with a bittersweet, wistful dreaminess. It’s a song that makes me want to dance all night till the sun comes up, only to find myself heartsick to leave it all behind as sweet memories past.

FMLYBND will be touring with Milky Chance next month, a sensational billing that promises a spectacular evening. They also have a few more shows lined up before then. I highly recommend you keep an eye out for deets on www.fmlybnd.com or on www.facebook.com/fmlybnd.

It’s getting kind of late here in San Francisco, and even later elsewhere, I know, but let’s get charged up on this new Lido & Canblaster! If you haven’t heard, the Norwegian producer and French producer, both on Belgian label Pelican Fly, are collaborating on a new EP, Superspeed, out April 6. The title track is a unique and fresh fusion of future bass, hip hop, garage, and French electro, with a bit of a Jersey bounce, too. Slick and buoyant, Superspeed is super swank.

Get ready for some bubbly effervescence and spritely beats on this fresh remix of Toronto based producer Pusher’s Switch, by Chicago and Boston based production act Restless Modern. Like Wave Racer and Lido’s brand of future bass and chill trap? You’re going to fall head over heels for this one, then.

Madeon – Innocence (ft. Aquilo)

March 31, 2015

It seems very safe to say that everyone is very excited about Madeon’s debut album. I’ve been hearing it mentioned by various people all over the place, even while hiking with new friends over the weekend. I mean, you have to give it up to the producer. Not only has everything we’ve heard off of Adventure pretty dang good so far, but he’s enlisted some top notch indie acts, some of my favorites, in fact, to guest on his tunes. Adventure comes out TOMORROW, March 31st. TOMORROW. Weeee. But in the meantime, check out this album track, Innocence, which features British duo Aquilo, who bring their signature melting, ambient sound to a chill, beautiful Madeon song.

Partyfine signed producer Jean Tonique is here to ring in summer early with a radiant new electronic offering named Guest, featuring soulful vocals by French artist Iris. Guest is a nu-disco meets house and electronic pop gem that has me itching to hang out by a pool and chill out with my best friends. It’s a heartwarming dance pop song off Jean Tonique’s YOU EP, out this week.

Soulful crooner Wayne Snow offers up his heavenly vocals on Parisian producer Darius’ new sultry track, Helios. The mellow but stirring tune is a slick future soul and R&B swooner. Helios’ textured production literally sparkles and dazzles, while Wayne Snow will melt listeners into little helpless puddles. The song is the title track from Darius’ forthcoming EP, out April 20th on Roche Musique.

This would be the second feature of the day in which STiNT is involved, so the producer is on a great roll. He offers up a lusciously sensual and resplendent remix of singer songwriter Niia’s Body. The end result is a gorgeous jam with an elegant groove and satiny flush. The edit flows flawless and smooth, like a Sade, Jessie Ware, and Shura fusion.

Let’s put some pep in our step with a more upbeat and vibrant jam, courtesy of Portuguese electronic act and Discotexas co-founder Moullinex! He brings summery Balearic percussion and exuberant disco on Take A Chance. It’s a feel good dance pop song that feels like a tall glass of cool water on a hot, sweltering day. Take A Chance is an addictive, irresistible treat from Moullinex’s new album, Elsewhere, out May 18th via Discotexas and !K7.

There’s no doubt that this is one massive return. Los Angeles based artist Gallant signed to Mind Of A Genius recently, where he’s now label mates with another amazing, Grammy nominated act, ZHU. Gallant’s first release on the label is a stunning tune that will have you reeling with its sensual vibes and wooing vocals. Open Up exhibits brilliant production by STiNT. It also showcases Gallant’s impeccable falsettos and flourish for delivering deeply emotional, ardent alternative R&B and future soul. Open Up is the sensational first track from Gallant’s forthcoming EP, due out this summer.
