Party Pupils, who are more like party teachers than pupils in my book, are back with endless swag on a sumptuous new jam named Patient. The Los Angeles duo dispenses a lavish torrent of sexy R&B soul and saucy future funk on this brassy voluptuous, satin swooning spectacular. Max Schneider and Ryan Siegel’s succulent swinging, sultry burning new original is a free download, here. Patient serves as the pair’s debut original. It comes on the heels of their ravishing singles and that jaw dropping, frisky hooking cover of Ms. Jackson, which you can find on their Soundcloud, here.

We’ve made it pretty clear how doubly excited we are for RAC’s new album and for his appearance at Outside Lands Music Festival this August, too. The Grammy nominated producer unleashed a dazzling summertime prancer off of EGO earlier this month in the form of I Still Wanna Know, which features none other than Rivers Cuomo of Weezer fame. Let’s twirl about in ecstasy to a lifting remix of that song by Los Angeles producer Goldroom. He amplifies the song’s balmy buoyancy by administering a glowing dance pop treatment on the jocund remix. Goldroom will also be at Outside Lands Music Festival later this summer. It’s going to be a mighty fine weekend of uplifting and vibrant music with these two at hand. Pre-order RAC’s album EGO ahead of its release on July 14th, here

Your eyes are not deceiving you, though your ears will most certainly channel pure bewitchment into your soul once you have plunged into what you see in front of you. It calls for you, drawing you into what you know must be sublime. Yes, this really is a remix of Maggie Rogers’ cherished single Alaska by the amazing SOHN. The esteemed producer and musician has given the enchanting song a signature work over, replete with ethereal synths and pulsating beats. Maggie’s vocals and SOHN’s moody thrumming production work in conjunction to cast a sable spell. Perhaps this is what Alaska feels like at the stroke of midnight, with the Northern Lights flickering across the sky, casting dancing shadows on snow covered ground.

Breakout Australian band Tora continues to build momentum as the release of their debut album Take A Rest steadily approaches. Too Much is a divine preview from the full length and a fine addition to our growing list of beloved Tora tracks. Its crackling electro soul, permeated with soft rippling synths, mournful strings, and somber keys, drip with longing. Tora tops it all off with heartrending, deep yearning vocals which entrance with the gospel aesthetic of James Blake.

Frontman Jo Loewenthal says of the hymnal: “It’s a simple message that comes from a place of complete honesty. Sometimes admitting to yourself can be the hardest part, but I’m sure at times everyone has loved someone or something that they shouldn’t have. After writing this song, I found it a lot easier to accept those feelings and move forward.” The four piece will be embarking on an international tour later this year, with stops in Australia, Europe, and the UK.

I’m desperately hoping that Tora will find time to visit North America, too. Learn more about the tour, here. Debut album Take A Rest arrives on June 9th. Pre-order from iTunes, here.

My encounters with Finnish trio Lake Jons seems to always leave me spellbound. Even If is no different with its steely strings, vehement beats, and entangling synths. This unique blend of psychedelic rock, electronica, and Nordic folk is a testament to the band’s refined brilliance. Lake Jons is in fact one of Finland’s most hyped bands, and it’s easy to see why. Their new single is rough yet enchanting, strapping yet expressive, like Lewis Del Mar paired with Alt-J with a Milky Chance groove. Even If can also be streamed via Spotify, here.

There’s nothing bipolar or fickle about my love for Bipolar Sunshine, who’s been dazzling us from the UK for the past three years with his exquisite voice and his electro tinged, soulful pop. Adia Merchant renders me an aching mess with his new track which was written in response to the tragic event that recently transpired in his hometown of Manchester. Despite its heavy sorrow, Tears carries an uplifting message of strength and healing. In his own words: “I wrote this for Manchester, my home town after hearing the news. RIP to everyone who has lost life in this conflict, prayers and blessings to everyone in the city. We will overcome this together, don’t let them divide us.“

Rapture is an appropriate name to bestow on this South London singer and songwriter’s stunning debut. The technicolor explosion of alt pop that emanates from Rapture is a fine introduction to MALORY, who’s already gearing up for the release of a debut EP named Dystopia. Epic is an understatement when it comes to this bold clattering, orchestral driven anthem, which evokes the likes of Charlotte OC and Zella Day. Lushly layered vocals, pounding tribal drums, and spellbinding folk elements permeate the sophisticated track from this must watch 22 year old artist. MALORY has already been championed by famed radio tastemakers at XFM, BBC Radio 2, and BBC London. “Can you hear the thunder, listen to the sound of rapture” is belted out with confidence on the resolute single. That thunder resonates loud and clear, and that sound of rapture grips every cell within me, launching me into an absolute state of euphoria. Dystopia arrives later this year. I can’t wait to be dazzled by more of MALORY’s cinematic splendor. Rapture can be purchased from iTunes, here.

New Swedish project Snow Culture really must love anything frigid and icy. Not only has their electronic pop been glacial bewitching in the past, but their latest offering is a brilliant cover of Maroon 5′s Cold.  The visionary rendering follows on the heels of stellar originals like The Box and No Sleep. This electronic re-imagination of Cold is Snow Culture’s most tenderly stirring track to date despite its throbbing edge. Dusky plinking beats, brittle synths, and sorrowful vocals deliver a gently entrancing punch to the heart. This Cold is far removed from Maroon 5′s original. In fact, I’ve fallen for it even more than I have that original. Re-visit Snow Culture’s singles via Soundcloud, here. They’ve been one of my favorite emerging acts of the year, and Cold only serves as more vindication for my obsession.

It was more than a year ago that my heart nearly broke in two when Swedish/Norwegian band Postiljonen announced their break up. I had fallen n love with their pellucid dream pop and soaring synthpop when IHM was but a wee little side project what seems like a lifetime ago, and the news hit me rather hard. So, you can imagine the pure joy that filled my heart when I found out that Postiljonen has returned. They do so in fine fashion, with a crystalline soaring, pastel gleaming, and 80′s pumping pop performance on new single Crazy. No Postiljonen indulgence is complete without glorious horns, of which Crazy has its ample share.

Oxford quartet Low Island presents us with mesmeric bliss on That Kind Of Love. An intricate blend of art rock and indie electronica rolls and surges with sublime fluidity on this coagulation of all that we love about Wild Beasts, Foals, and Caribou. Even a touch of Alt-J can be detected in That Kind Of Love’s ornamental brilliance. It’s no wonder this band is catching some well deserved attention back home in the UK. That Kind Of Love can also be streamed via Spotify, here.
