It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything new from Xavier Dunn, though the Australian singer songwriter and producer has lent his velvety crooning to a bevy of stellar tracks from other artists, like NGHTMRE & Carmada’s Embrace and Jesse Porsches’ The Weekend. But he’s finally returned with an exquisitely haunting new song and video named Isic Tutor, a diaphanous effusion of Dunn’s beautiful falsettos and a wistfully stirring combo of his soulful pop and ethereal indie electronica. An organic tide of anguished emotions exude from the song, which explores the themes of unrequited love in a tumultuous relationship. Intriguingly enough, its namesake is the strange wisdom of Isic, an AI character from a video game named Battleborn. Grab the single, a more than welcome and deeply moving re-emergence, here.

It’s strange how a man who’s chosen to go by the pseudonym NGHTMRE could bring us such sublime sonic joy. But that’s exactly what this SoCal production sensation has been doing for quite some time, and this time around, he’s united with Australian duo Carmada (LDRU + Yahtzel) as well as satin voiced Australian crooner Xavier Dunn to do it. Embrace kicks off succulent smooth and buttery sleek, with riveting percussive patterns. It’s exactly like its namesake; it drapes around us, surrounds us, holds us. But this talent studded track soon reaches a precarious edge as it makes an intensely wired trap drop replete with dirty bass and jouncing beats. Embrace is epic and exhilarating, and the perfect balance between all three projects’ sounds. Embrace is out on Mad Decent. Snag it, here.

Australia offers up no shortage of fine production talent, and the latest such star on the rise to hit our radar is up and coming Sydney DJ and producer Jesse Porsches, who has signed to Astralwerks Records. Jesse was once a part of IHM praised but now disbanded Australian project Porsches. Though we can’t help but feel dejected over the Porsches news, Jesse Porsches’ The Weekend, which features creamy voiced singer songwriter Xavier Dunn on guest vocals, is a dulcet lifting future pop treat that leaves us flushed with excitement over the new artist. What’s striking about The Weekend is its multi-dimensional depth. On the one hand, it’s a springy thriller of a future bass anthem, sure to perk you up for the weekend. On the other hand, within its substrate lies a deep melancholy. The Weekend is about fleeing connections and short-lived highs. As exhilarating as they may be, its a sad affair when the weekend ends and those brief moments of joy and rapport fade. I guess we’re all in search of something that lasts more than just a weekend. Fortunately for us, music doesn’t fade.

Xavier Dunn and Airling make a divine Australian pairing on the former’s new single, Give In. Their harmonic cooing drifts coolly and gently through an atmospheric sheath of dreamy electronic production. Soulful pop meets chill house on this gorgeous gem, a pure and pristine swathe of sublime enchantment. My mind strays far, far away from my mundane day, rising on the tender billows of Give In. Give In is out now on iTunes via 1825 Records.

A producer out of Sydney, Australia has my full attention after teaming up with Australian singer songwriter Xavier Dunn on a smooth jolting dance number named Little Higher. It’s not just a little higher that Terace takes me with his steely future house and effulgent deep house banger. I’m brought sky high by this glossy cool, incandescent rippling track. Xavier Dunn slings some ravishing falsettos on Little Higher, too. The single is out now on Sweat It Out! Music.

I’m much tempted to listen to Xavier Dunn’s new song Straight On Till Morning straight through to tomorrow. The Sydney based singer songwriter and producer delivers one powerful ballad for his latest song, blending epic sweeping indie pop and electronic R&B in the process. The emotion on the song is palpable as Xavier Dunn gives us a stunning and honest vocal performance. Straight On Till Morning is the sort of sonic masterpiece that fills me with hope. At a time when the world seems to be falling apart in so many ways, Xavier Dunn reminds me of the transcendental beauty it still holds. The golden voiced artist explains that his song is about the color we leave behind when we grow into “adults”. He advises us not to forget the magic we felt when we saw things for the first time. Xavier Dunn revives the color in our lives with this magnificent song. He’ll be supporting BROODS on their Australian National Tour this July, and I’d imagine this song would be even more moving live. Purchase Straight On Till Morning from iTunes.

It’s an exquisite Australian electronic affair on Folding Hills, a song from Byron Bay producer FØRD that features vocals by singer songwriter and falsetto extraordinaire Xavier Dunn. Folding Hills echoing oscillations, contagious finger snapping, and airy whistling add to the song’s infectious timbre. There’s no resisting its smooth sensual, brisk chiming allure. It all feels very SAFIA gone Yahtzel, which is deliriously sublime.
