OFFICIAL VID: When Saints Go Machine – Love And Respect ft. Killer Mike

March 30, 2013

image

When Saints Go Machine is a Danish electropop band with a couple of albums under their belt. They have a third one, titled Infinity Pool, coming out May 13. The first single off Infinity Pool is Love And Respect and it features Killer Mike on rap vocals. It’s some sick synthy stuff. It’s a bit Miike Snow like at points, but much more distorted & atmospheric, and with some great hip hop flow. Check out the new video for the track below.

New Charli XCX!

March 29, 2013

Ugh, I’m recovering from a great night out catching Flume live (insanely GOOD), but I must share this news. Charli XCX just announced a new track on Fader. Head on over to take a listen to What I Like. Her debut full length album True Romance comes out on April 16!!! Been waiting for that one. It’s gonna be a fun one, kids! I’m looking forward to seeing her live again opening up for Marina and the Diamonds.

The Sunsets

March 29, 2013

We’ve already heart Born To Kill off The Thermals coming new album Desperate Ground out on April 16. It was an energetic power pop/punk anthem. They go in a similar direction with the latest song preview, The Sunset. The Portland rockers released a lyric video for the track today. It’s a mega satisfying, gritty, heavy track.

OFFICIAL VID: Phosphorescent – Song For Zula

March 29, 2013

I shared the audio for this absolutely gorgeous track before, but now that there’s a video, there’s no better reason to share again. Phosphorescent is the project of Georgia singer songwriter Matthew Houck. Song For Zula is off his just released new album Muchacho. The rustic video just about fits what I’d pictured in my head when I first heard the song, minus the odd wild lady, that is. There’s a bit of Bright Eyes quality to the track with the raw, emotive vocals and accompanying beautiful strings.

OFFICIAL VID: Team Spirit – Jesus, He’s Alright

March 29, 2013

For some rollicking fun, both from the song and the silly semi-animated video, check out Brooklyn band Team Spirit’s Jesus, He’s Alright. Team Ghost is helmed by former Passion Pit member Ayad Al Adhamy. Jesus, He’s Alright is a high energy, riff heavy punky rock tune that starts out reminding me very much of WU LYF before it goes far more whimsical and light hearted. These guys look like loads of fun to catch live. They have a self titled album coming out on April 9 off VICE.

Alright, how many Suit and Tie remixes have I shared already? At least 5? The remixes span a HUGE array of sounds… from the shadowy sounds of Four Tet, to wonky moombahton sounds of Dillon Francis, to electro house remixes by the likes of Aeroplane and many others. This next one is a remix by Los Angeles producer TOKIMONSTA. Stream it above. It may not be my favorite Suit and Tie remix, but it’s still pretty dope with its futuristic heavy bass.
