My, my, my… my, my…. Brian Fallon sure is churning out the covers lately. The frontman of The Gaslight Anthem lends his gritty vocals to the Bon Iver beauty Skinny Love and joins the ranks of so many that have covered the tune off Bon Iver’s debut album. It’s sure to be a timeless classic, and the new cover is another welcome version of the woodsy song. The cover will be on The Gaslight Anthem’s coming Black Friday Record Store Day exclusive EP titled Hold You Up. Of course, my all time favorite version of this song is none other than the original with Justin Vernon crooning away in his falsetto, emotional voice.

What a great day it is. All Hallow’s Eve brings all these goodies from some of our favorite dark pop gothy acts. There’s no darker, creepier, gothier day than today. UK goth pop songstress Charli XCX released a new song today as promised. It’s off her new Super Ultra mixtape which will be available on November 7th (via her website at charlixcxmusic.com). The new song Cloud Aura features Brooke Candy. It’s some distorted future pop featuring rap vocals from Ms. Candy. I can’t say it’s my all time favorite Charli XCX tune, but it’s still a very tasty treat and not a trick. I’m pretty sure it’ll grow on me way more with repeat listens. It already has by the end of the song. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the Super Ultra mixtape.
