The Afterman lyric video

September 29, 2012

Coheed and Cambria is preparing to release yet another concept album on October 9. This one is titled The Afterman: Ascension. It’s actually the first part of a double album, with the second one, The Afterman: Descension, slated for a February 2013 release date. I actually never really sat down and thought hard enough to understand the plots and integrated storyline through some of their albums. I should. Stream the lyric video for the track The Afterman below. It is lighter fare for Coheed and Cambria, however that’s one of the great things about the progressive rock veterans. They have a unique, recognizable sound that sometimes hits pretty hard, but at other times, is as soft and soothing as lullabies, thanks in part to Claudio Sanchez’s versatile vocals. This one sounds pretty dang good.

Dark Again (Lights Out)

September 29, 2012

Gold Fields is an Australian indie dance rock synthpop crew, and they’ve just dropped square and center on my radar with their new single Dark Again (Lights Out). Stream it below courtesy of Rolling Stone. It’s a bright, colorful, upbeat song. There’s endless great acts exporting from Australia lately. These guys are slated to release a debut album in early 2013 titled Black Sun. I’m more than eager to hear their other new songs. Dark Again (Lights Out) is way too promising and delicious. It’s got radio play and hit written all lover it.

I did some digging, and here’s an EP they released earlier this year. Yep, these guys have major potential.

Zebra Katz x I Am A Camera

September 29, 2012

UK electronic duo made a sick remix of already sick (but very polarizing) dark and twisted Ima Read by Zebra Katz. The track features Njena Reddd Foxxx on very Azealia Banks-like vocals. Since the track first dropped, this style of hip hop/rap has become so much more popular. Stream both the dance remix and the awesome original cut & video below. Again. Sick…

Josh Homme’s new tune

September 29, 2012

As most music aficionados probably know, Queens of the Stone Age is hard at work recording a new album. The band’s long time member Josh Homme has been busy working on his own solo work as well, and here’s his badass rock track Nobody To Love which is on the soundtrack for the film End Of Watch. Crunchy.

OFFICIAL VID: Team Ghost – Dead Film Star

September 29, 2012

Oh boy, I almost let this one slip through the cracks, but yes, SAVED! This is a great one. Team Ghost is a French rock band, and here’s their chilling video for single Dead Film Star. The song is some really great indie alt rock with sprinkles of darkwave. At times in the beginning, I was reminded of Coldplay and the Editors. The video is basically a mini horror film directed by Simon Cahn. I guess that makes perfect sense for the song. If you disturb easy, you might want to be careful of the ending.
