For some fleecy levels of dance music bliss, Finnish producer Lucky Stripes offers up a sublime remix of fellow countrymen TJH87′s recent smooth funky single, Lost Into The Night, featuring signature satin vocals by Mammals’ Guy Brown. Deep house groove, nu-disco resplendence, vibrant chord progressions, and Guy Brown’s buttery vocals make for an inebriating and steamy slice of fluid sound. San Francisco producer Slaptop is doling out sweet jams in a generous manner these days, and he’s showing us some major versatility with the reveals, too. Following up on his synthpop leaning Away and a summery house remix of said song comes nostalgia laden, heart rending Remember, a gorgeous deep house jam with some very sigh inducing, lugubrious moments. This one’s much moodier than the producer’s prior tracks, amply more meditative, and incredibly expansive. I’m suddenly filled with a huge swelling of remorse, for what, I don’t know, but it’s a feeling that is darkly sublime.

British house producer Duke Dumont announced a new EP, Blase Boys Club Part 1, and revealed a new jam off the release earlier today. He takes an abrupt turn on Ocean Drive, which is apparently a cruise down a more The Wknd, Years & Years, and Kavinsky fused sort of road, very different from the Duke’s earlier joints, though he’s obviously shown us he’s a man of many skills on his manifold splendorous tunes. Ocean Drive is a bumping jam with a sleek sheen. Now, all I need is a flashy convertible with the top down, just to blast this song in as I fly down the PCH at dusk. Blase Boys Club Part 1 is due out October 2nd.

Cellophane (So Cruel) is possibly my top favorite tune off Miami Horror’s recent album All Possible Futures. It’s exactly the sort of nu-disco hued summery dance jam you’d expect from the now Los Angeles based Australian band. A cool new video for the warmly effulgent song is just too hard to resist sharing. The song’s just too fabulous, and the video continues that recent pop art frenzy that seems to be pervading a lot of recent clips. Absurd visuals that make no logical sense? People connected by elongated arms and legs? Yes, please!

The other day, I stumbled upon an intriguing and mysterious new duo named LYK (Let You Know), who proceeded to melt my face with their magnificent blend of raw trap and neon hued electronic music. Made up of Druture from Atlanta and Ango from Toronto, LYK offers up vivid hooks and hypnotizing production on Up All Night, a booming track from the duo’s debut EP, LEAK, out now on iTunes. Equally grating as it is fluidly melodic, Up All Night is an intoxicating experience. LYK offers up more than just “trap EDM”. They find a fine balance between regional rap, K-pop, and electro house with their brash, brazen hybrids, as demonstrated on Up All Night.  The duo enigmatically call LEAK “just the beginning”.

17 year old Liverpool chanteuse Tayá has me fully captivated with her beautiful voice and the dark production on her debut song Got Me Wondering. Tayá may be young, but she’s already worked in the studio with a long list of accomplished producers, including T-Minus (Kendrick Lamar’s Swimming Pools, Drake’s The Motto, etc), Snakehips, DJ Khalil, and Sango. Got Me Wondering, which saw a seductive debut music video treatment this week, is a hauntingly ethereal and sensually shimmering slow burner. Smooth R&B meets murky hip hop and chill electronic on the glamorous debut.

I’m irresistibly drawn to this new tune from ever busy DJ Mustard, who teams up with Ty$ and Makonnen on his new track Why’d You Call. The electronic hip hop affair is incredibly catchy with its hooking melody, bumping beat, and progressive meets trap production. Why’d You Call swaps between a steady, entrancing groove and festival trap levels of vigor. I can listen to this banger over and over and over.

One of the most surprising, unexpected tracks I’ve encountered all day is a new version of NYC dance pop duo The Knocks’ red hot jam Classic, which, of course, features rising Los Angeles duo Powers. Classic is easily one of The Knocks’ most infectious tunes, and it was a fantastic moment when the duo dropped the tune live in San Francisco and Powers showed up to deliver on vocals. Today, The Knocks unveiled a Classic that involves also hotly buzzing act Fetty Wap, who warbles and belts out additional vocals. Classic is most certainly one of my top summer jams this year, and a new version with Fetty Wap is a welcome addition. The new version of Classic is available now on iTunes.

South London based producer HUNTAR’s electronic soul music always leaves my heart in a crumple. I loved his prior offering, Autumn, so much, that I chose to share it on Grant Owen’s

We Found New Music

internet radio and podcast show as an honored guest via a segment named 5 Songs I Love. As a result, I only expected to be blown away with HUNTAR’s next jam, and I find myself swooning clear across the room after listening to passionately longing, seductively mournful SK1N. A soft guitar funk and gently swelling synths pervade the powerful ballad, a refined blend of Shy Girls, Astronomy etc., and Ben Khan. It’s obvious we can expect an abundance of compelling music to come from HUNTAR.

Over the course of this past year, a mysterious vocalist named Khai has graced so many spectacular songs from a long list of producers and artists with his delicately swooning voice. The Missouri based artist emerges from the shadows this week with a heart stopping cover of Bjork’s All Is Full Of Love. The brilliant downtempo cover is produced by Nashville duo Gold Dash, who give the cover a magnificently haunting ambiance with their highly textured future bass soundscape and skeletal trip hop beat. Paired with Khai’s exquisite voice, All Is Full Of Love takes on a melancholic future R&B hue that captivates fiercely and melts sweetly. Khai will be releasing a debut EP on Octal Sound later this year.
