I’ve been waiting in high anticipation to share this exquisite, ambient tune with you since I first heard it a few weeks ago. Now that it’s unleashed, you can melt away to its delicate, gentle beauty and slow, intoxicating build, too. Liza Flume is an Australian singer songwriter, and Sleepless Nights is the first single off an upcoming EP. The song lives up to its name, capturing that magical feeling of late night wakefulness perfectly. You know those moments, when you’re wide awake, and the rest of the world is fast asleep, and there’s this incredibly hushed, yet enchanting atmosphere in the air, as you visit old memories and dream about the future, caught between bouts of melancholy, wistfulness, and hopefulness. I find myself nearly holding my breath when I listen to Sleepless Nights.

British singer songwriter Leo Stannard is releasing his Notions EP shortly in October, and as the final days approach, he’s unveiled a last song off the four track sophomore EP, Please Don’t. As before, it’s a gorgeous Ben Howard meets Ed Sheeran meets Jeff Buckley gem, quivering with such gentle, bittersweet emotion and Stannard’s exquisite vocals. Revisit previously featured and oh so beautiful Now Is Not The Time below, also on Notions.

Thanks to a superb remix, I’ve been keyed into Rochester, NY duo Roses and Revolutions, an indie band with a wonderful folk and alt-country flavored sound. Stream the electrified Clementine & The Galaxy Remix of Take Me With You above, both buoyant and endearingly charming at the same time. Then stream recent single Boomerang below, which channels plenty of their honeyed, Americana style and beautiful vocals. Roses and Revolutions music easily reminds me of Patti Griffin, First Aid Kit, and Vanessa Carlton. Plus, there’s something so incredibly bewitching and romantic about their band name.

Here’s a gorgeous little tune from one Ed Prosek, a indie folk artist from California who’s now based in Brighton, UK. Hold On Tight is a jangly acoustic gem that builds mellifluously in intensity and carries hearts away soaring into the sky with such magnificent splendor. It officially releases on October 5. Following some tour dates in the UK, Ed Prosek will be returning back home for a series of dates, including a stop in San Francisco where he’ll play with The San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra on November 9. Ed will even rearrange his music especially for this unique one time event. Sounds pretty magical, if you ask me. For a some tender California love, stream his song California, which was off his 2012 EP of the same name.

Everyone, say hello to Santa Maradona F.C., an “experiment”, “an anonymous collective of globe-trotting musicians and producers dabbling with genre curving soundscapes and collaborations”. Intriguing, no? Give Me Sunshine is the collective’s debut single, a vibrant, endearing song that features vocals by newcomer Lucy Spraggan, whom the collective found in a video online and wrote to out of the blue. Give Me Sunshine is a warm, laid back treat, full of folksy Balearic pop flavors and upbeat dance pop/melodic house buoyancy. It’s one of those songs that gives me the urge to spend a long, lazy day outdoors with my friends, doing nothing in particular… Catch the video for the tune below, too. The track will be out officially October 12 on Brock Wild Records.
