Historically, Bonnie and Clyde were notorious criminals, yet famed legends… but there’s another distinguished duo named BONNIE X CLYDE who’s well worthy of our obsession these days. The vocal bass duo continue to mesmerize and thrill us with their brand of cinematic future bass on The Unknown. Beautifully haunting vocals, reminiscent of early BROODS, Echos, and

XYLØ, pull us into an inky world full of exciting mystery and intrigue. BXC explain: “This track was inspired by the unknown. That feeling of being unsure about what’s coming, what’s next, what things will look like in the future & not being fully sure of what will happen. Through this song we encourage you not to fear the unknown & just go for it. Whatever it is in life you are passionate about or truly enjoy, give it your all.” Stream/download The Unknown, here.

Every once in awhile, a new project comes along that truly floors me and stands out from the pack with their genre crossing music. That’s what happened when I stumbled upon outsideOUTSIDE and their debut single Habits earlier this year. I promptly jumped on sharing the dusky aching tune, which blended emo rock with glitchy shuddering vocal bass. Though the mysterious band followed the track up with a stunning remix/cover of Lil Xan’s Betrayed last month, Comatose is only their second original release. And it’s such a heartrending ballad and another exceptional exhibition of outsideOUTSIDE’s immaculate genre-defying sound. The tender yet raw poignancy on Comatose near leaves us comatose with how hard it tugs on our heart strings. You can find the single on all major streaming platforms, here. Re-visit the music video for debut single Habits below.

PRXZM’s transcendental cover remix of LA producer William Black’s Letting Go, featuring Park Avenue, arrives like a soft, aching sigh, but it leaves us floating on cloud nine with its effulgent flickering, majestic marching beauty. Their milky smooth vocals and tender keys emphasize the original’s emotive future bass potency. Melancholia abounds even as we’re whisked away on a blissful journey by the refined rendition. I’ve always been drawn to sadness and the beauty it encapsulates in its own, unique way. PRXZM’s version of Letting Go is the epitome of all that I love about sorrow and joy. You can listen to the original, here.  PRXZM’s remix can be found on The Letting Go Remix EP, here.

I love sweet juicy cherries, and I love hanging at the beach, so I couldn’t help but be drawn to Cherry Beach’s name even before I listened to their debut single. Once I heard the new Los Angeles duo’s first song, Gravity, I had to wonder… Could this sonic experience be better than cherries and beaches, combined? Cherry Beach fuses future bass, deep house, and electro-pop flawlessly on the song, giving us a gravity defying, brisk bounding confection whose limber beats, supple vocals, and melodious chorus are irresistibly contagious. Cherry Beach’s debut can be streamed/downloaded, here.

At first glance, the name Jef Miles seems to imply a solo project, but this electronic endeavor involves two producers who moved from small Canadian towns to the big city of Vancouver. There does seem to be a wayfaring, soul-searching feel to the pair’s evocative new single, Wild Light, an exhilarating and cathartic future bass opus featuring heartrending vocals by fellow British Columbian musician Luca Fogale. Wild Light is a panoramic swooping beauty, a heart swelling, life-affirming anthem. Stream Wild Light on Spotify, here.

Mysterious new alt project outsideOUTSIDE blew us away last month when they emerged from the shadows with a spectacular first single named Habits, whose crestfallen mixture of dusky electronica, glitchy shuddering vocal bass, and raspy aching emo alt rock was nothing short of fresh and brilliant. I immediately marked them as a band to watch off that one single. Re-visit our feature of the track, here. On the heels of that debut comes a moody remix/cover of Lil Xan’s Betrayed. It’s obvious our convictions about this project are on point. Their rendition of Betrayed is dark and nebulous. Its muddy bristling vehemence is interspersed with aching keys, resulting in a slow burning yet intensely gripping listen on which outsideOUTSIDE incorporate elements from hip hop, alt rock, and cinematic vocal bass with laser precision. The track is available for free, here. We can’t wait to hear what outsideOUTSIDE has up their sleeves next.

Transcendental and atmospheric can’t even begin to describe the stunning beauty of IDLE, an ethereal billowing, pellucid burbling electronic track off a new EP from SoCal three piece mAsis. IDLE’s electronica and pop is chiffon yet moody, and its prowling beats and future bass styled production flickers are sensually hypnotic. It’s one of five flawlessly immersive must-listen tunes from the new EP Always You, which can be streamed via Soundcloud, here. mAsis achieves an exquisite balance between organic and synthetic on the dusky electronic release. Drawing us deep into every song are mAsis’ silky soft, plush enchanting vocals. It comes as no surprise that mAsis’ members have worked with the likes of Rhye, Banks, and Mr Little Jeans. They say of their new EP: “‘Always You’ is a journey towards atonement, of revisiting our past so we can embrace our ever-changing future.”

Chi-town electronic whiz Mielo’s The Wayfarer, featuring ethereal vocals by Pauline Herr, gets a truly heavenly remix treatment from a mysterious Ohio based producer who goes by the name Dreweybear. To say his future bass edit is exquisite is an understatement. This is the sort of transcendental yet tender, atmospheric and gentle sojourn that draws out endless deep sighs. Dreweybear’s remix is a balm, an elixir, and a reminder of how beautiful the world is even in its most melancholic moments, when we’ve lost hope and don’t know which way to turn. Follow the light that is Dreweybear’s track as it eventually lifts us high above the clouds with an electro-charged finish reminiscent of the cathartic soundscapes that k?d and Porter oft drop. And if you’re craving for more from Dreweybear, stream his original The Rise, featuring Ashley Apollodor below, and marvel at its seamlessly rendered, bold and dramatic chill trap.

You can’t really fault me for being glad that Kill Paris never ended up changing his name, right? I mean, the inspiration behind it a few years ago was nothing but honorable and respectable, but I would never have gotten used to calling him anything else but Kill Paris. The long time production luminary has returned with a dreamy stirring, flushed and sentimental future bass aria named Made Of Time, featuring dewy vocals by fellow Californian Trove as well as misty aureate cooing by Emily Vaughn (both of whom contributed to writing the song, too). Made Of Time is a fleecy embrace, whose gentle lurches and sweetly melting ambiance can thaw the coldest of hearts. You can also stream Made Of Time via Spotify, here.

If anyone wants to tell us about Carchii, we’d be greatly appreciative. All we know about the production project is, well… next to nothing. He, or she, or they, sure have a handle on life changing electronica, as heard on sprawling and epic Interstellar, a masterful blend of melodic bass, future bass, and vocal bass that feels like k?d, Porter Robinson, and Illenium decided to write a magnum opus together. You can also stream the monumental track on Spotify, here. Or download for free, here.
