I’ve been dreaming for a new DREAMERS song for quite some time now, so I’m much delighted that the now LA-based “cosmic rock” trio are back with rambunctious Screws, which will be featured on the band’s upcoming EP, due early summer. DREAMERS also announced a 31-date U.S. headlining tour kicking off on September 13th in San Diego. On my last night in Austin for SXSW, I was so exhausted from running around for 5 days and nights straight that my legs were wobbly. Most of my music friends had left the day prior, but I managed to dance my heart out solo to Cut Copy at one of Culture Collide’s showcases anyway, then I made sure to trudge myself over to Our Girl’s midnight set. I probably looked like a zombie. I’m eternally grateful I did so, because the London trio gave me the perfect set of gazey indie rock to close out an epic week. And now, they’re back with a new tune, appropriately titled I Really Like It, to remind me of that meaningful evening of fine music. Just when I thought I had enough of SXSW, and as I was feeling a little disconcerted from not running into people I knew, I remembered how spectacular music can be and how serendipitous any day can be when there are magnificent bands to see, even when you’re alone. Dulcet and sweet like Angel Olsen yet raw and infectious with shades of Wolf Alice, I Really Like It is quite the charming lovestruck token, a crush song to enhance our crush on Our Girl.
