Saltwater Sun sure hit it on the mark when the Londoners’ settled on a band name. Their brand of alt rock is both radiant and briny, a splendorous combination of chugging guitar and honeyed vocals. This has never been more apparent than on their new song Now Or Never, the first single from their next EP, Flawed. They bring with them plentiful Fleetwood Mac pop rock charisma and The Jezabels theatrical lushness on their new alt rock dazzler. Saltwater Sun will be playing The Great Escape later this month. Now Or Never is available now from iTunes.

It’s been nearly half a year since Saltwater Sun emerged with their florrid pop rock debut, Habits On My Mind, but the Londoners finally re-surfaced with a second song as well as a debut EP announcement. Their very first EP, Wild, will be unleashed on November 2nd via Hand In Hive. EP taste, Making Eyes, is a fuzzy treat with playful strings, crunchy percussion, and sweet honey vocals. It’s a kittenish jam, a playful swirler that brings together the dance rock beats of Foals with the jangly pop of Alvvays.

I’m certainly on a roll with great indie rock music from across the pond in the early moments of today’s share session. Newly signed to promising young label Hand In Hive is a band from London named Saltwater Sun. Their debut single, Habit On My Mind, is a florrid pop rock treat, reminiscent of music from Alvvays and Honeyblood, with some extra flushed fire, a la Karen O or Shirley Manson (and a hint of Lana Del Rey).
