It’s a huge, huge day when we get to listen to something new from Bishop Briggs. The Los Angeles based singer songwriter, easily one of the best voices out there in the music scene right now, has scintillated us with her fierce and resilient music from day one, and we’re elated that she’s achieved such a massive following and stupendous level of success since, all more than deserved. Though this new offering is a cover, Bishop Briggs brings all her sheer power, unrivaled grit, and vitalic fortitude, including her scratchy sonorous, sooty burning vocals, to INXS classic Never Tear Us Apart. The cover is next song released from the forthcoming Fifty Shades Freed official soundtrack arriving on Republic Records. Listening to Bishop Briggs belt out her songs never gets old. She’s astonishing and jaw dropping each and every single time, and her live presence is so mighty and omnipotent that we’re oft left wondering if she’s even of this world. Pre-order the album, here.

I know it’s a HUGE crime that I don’t watch Game Of Thrones, or rather that I haven’t gotten around to it yet. But I did check out the season trailer the other day, because I read that the clip featured London Grammar covering Devil Inside by INXS. Today, London Grammar has made available the full, amazing tune for our listening pleasure. Ah, Hannah Reid’s pristine vocals never fail to make me sigh. There’s a trip hoppy, Massive Attack vibe going on with the tune. Maybe I’ll get to hear it live come Thursday night! I sure hope so.

Still lots of goodies that came out of today, but I’ll leave y’all off with this surprisingly good mashup by, who else, but The Hood Internet. Reflekt You Tonight mashes together INXS’s 80’s classic Need You Tonight and Arcade Fire’s Reflektor, an interesting little pair up, indeed. I clicked the play button rather cautiously at first. Lo and behold, the simmering vocals and AF’s Haiti/disco production go together pretty nicely! I wouldn’t share it if not, because Arcade Fire is kind of sacred ground, if you know what I mean.
