Well lookie here. Fall Out Boy have returned to much fanfare, and they’ve uploaded the full new album Save Rock and Roll on their soundcloud! The album comes out on April 16. Their pop punk is a combo that always worked pretty well, so it’s wonderful to hear Stump, Wentz, and the boys back at it. There’s almost a nostalgic feeling listening to them again. It’s been about five years since they released Folie a Deux. In the space between then and now, Stump went solo, Wentz tried out an electro sound with band Black Cards, and the world missed FOB. The new album sounds pretty good and features some slam dunk guests, including Courtney Love, Elton John, Big Sean, and rising UK pop artist Foxxes. I’m going to tack on FOB’s Youtube upload of the Foxxes track, titled Just One Yesterday, below, even though it’s part of the stream above. It was one I was greatly looking forward to hearing. Opening track The Phoenix is likely going to be a HUGE anthem of the summer, no doubt. It’s quickly grown on me and is so dang indulgently gloriously powerfully catchy.  But first, the tracklist (I’m kinda glad their song titles are shorter now!):

1. The Phoenix
2. My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)
3. Alone Together
4. Where Did The Party Go
5. Just One Yesterday (feat. Foxxes)
6. The Mighty Fall (feat. Big Sean)
7. Miss Missing You
8. Death Valley
9. Young Volcanoes
10. Better Than This (Rat a Tat) (feat. Courtney Love)
11. Save Rock and Roll (feat. Elton John)

Actually, let me add on a couple more direct embeds. I don’t know about you, but I really wanted to skip to the tracks that featured Elton John and Courtney Love instead of hafta skip ahead in the album stream above. So, for your convenience, cuz I’m so nice, here ya go.

Courtney Love’s 99 Problems

January 29, 2013

Wow. Any of you at Sundance? And any of those at Sundance get to catch this live? Gotta say, it’s pretty cool. Courtney Love covered Jay-Z’s 99 Problems and made it into a grungy rock song. It’s different. Very different.
