It’s no secret that Sweater Beats loves his alt rock and emo rock. In fact, we love him even more because of it, since we share much of that same nostalgic ardor after having spent our early to mid-2000′s addicted to a steady diet of MCR, Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, and so much more. I’d imagine Antonio was quite happy to be tapped for an official Fall Out Boy remix. The truth is, Fall Out Boy is lucky to have him on board their new official remix EP. The Los Angeles based producer, who’s ridiculously versatile, as you well know from our countless features over the years (including most recently, his new song with Icona Pop, Faded Away), has given FOB’s Hold Me Tight a melodic and cinematic trap work-over profusely packed with slick whizzing, brisk zestful energy. If you’re secretly hoping that Fall Out Boy and Louis The Child would work together to make a hybrid alt rock/dance song, Sweater Beats’ remix will be more than satisfy your craving. You can also stream the track on Spotify, here.

If this one doesn’t get your heart pumping and legs itching to move, then you’re cold blooded. Fall Out Boy’s insanely fun and playful song Uma Thurman, possibly my favorite off their recent album, gets a massive tempo uptick and energy infusion via an official remix by Didrick. It doesn’t get more uplifting and exhilarating than this glorious, triumphant electro and progressive house remix.

Well lookie here. Fall Out Boy have returned to much fanfare, and they’ve uploaded the full new album Save Rock and Roll on their soundcloud! The album comes out on April 16. Their pop punk is a combo that always worked pretty well, so it’s wonderful to hear Stump, Wentz, and the boys back at it. There’s almost a nostalgic feeling listening to them again. It’s been about five years since they released Folie a Deux. In the space between then and now, Stump went solo, Wentz tried out an electro sound with band Black Cards, and the world missed FOB. The new album sounds pretty good and features some slam dunk guests, including Courtney Love, Elton John, Big Sean, and rising UK pop artist Foxxes. I’m going to tack on FOB’s Youtube upload of the Foxxes track, titled Just One Yesterday, below, even though it’s part of the stream above. It was one I was greatly looking forward to hearing. Opening track The Phoenix is likely going to be a HUGE anthem of the summer, no doubt. It’s quickly grown on me and is so dang indulgently gloriously powerfully catchy.  But first, the tracklist (I’m kinda glad their song titles are shorter now!):

1. The Phoenix
2. My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)
3. Alone Together
4. Where Did The Party Go
5. Just One Yesterday (feat. Foxxes)
6. The Mighty Fall (feat. Big Sean)
7. Miss Missing You
8. Death Valley
9. Young Volcanoes
10. Better Than This (Rat a Tat) (feat. Courtney Love)
11. Save Rock and Roll (feat. Elton John)

Actually, let me add on a couple more direct embeds. I don’t know about you, but I really wanted to skip to the tracks that featured Elton John and Courtney Love instead of hafta skip ahead in the album stream above. So, for your convenience, cuz I’m so nice, here ya go.

OFFICIAL VID: Fall Out Boy – The Phoenix

By now, most people know that Fall Out Boy is back. Here’s their new video for Phoenix. I guess Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz figured their old formula still works best after Patrick’s solo stint and Pete Wentz’ other project Black Cards didn’t explode monumentally. The Phoenix is a welcome return, bringing back that good old anthemic FOB sound. Their new album Save Rock and Roll drops on April 7. It feels like 2008’s Folie A Deux was so, so long ago! I was very fond of the album artwork for that one, as I’m a fan of Luke Chueh’s work.
