Klangkarussell remix of Laura Mvula’s Sing To The Moon

October 31, 2013

Earlier this year, I featured a British soul singer named Laura Mvula. There was no doubt in my mind she was about to garner some major buzz. She went on to become quite the rising star back at home. Now, Austrian electronic duo Klangkarussell (who dropped that dope tune Sonnentaz earlier this year) has done a sick remix of her transcendental, beautiful song Sing To The Moon. They turn the elegant, magnificent track on its heels, creating a bass heavy, echo filled deep house rendition well worthy of a listen. Check it out below, and listen to the sublime original cut of the tune, too.

Since I first discovered the UK’s Laura Mvula last month, I’ve been seeing her name around endlessly. That’s right, another talented rising star from the UK, big surprise. I still love her recent soulful and super infectious single That’s Alright. Here’s a cool remix of the track by French band Griefjoy. I’ll throw the original edit below as well, of course. And I’ll also share another Mvula tune, the more toned down and silkier Like The Morning Dew. Watch out, world, here comes Laura Mvula! I’m not even sure I know how to say her last name right, but I dig her music. Her debut album Sing To The Moon is out right now in the UK.

Laura Mvula is a fast rising British soul singer songwriter. She recently released her debut album Sing To The Moon to much critical acclaim. Stream the infectious, strong, gospel heavy That’s Alright off the album above. She’s got a fantastic, soulful voice. The complex, lush song is full of some great Afrobeats mixed with tons of glorious horns. For another stand out track by Laura Mvula, check out Green Garden below.
