There’s no denying the star power of Lauv, who’s reached spectacular heights of success since a few years ago, when he switched over from his production moniker Epique to launch his career as a singer songwriter. Lauv’s prior single I Like Me Better has gone platinum. No doubt new single Chasing Fire will do so soon, too. The slick and polished tune is about fighting for something that’s already over, or the beginning of the end. Despite its rather desolate and despondent breakup themes, Chasing Fire bursts forth with vivacious beats and mellifluous vocals. Lauv co-wrote and co-produced the track, as he normally does. Chasing Fire arrives in the midst of Lauv’s sold out world tour, “I met you when I was 18″. He also recently performed on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and MTV’s TRL, and he’ll be performing this summer at Lollapalooza, Hangout Music Festival, Firefly Music Festival, and LaureLive Festival.
