Ah, Zanski and that slinky burning drawl… It melts me to the core every time I listen to one of his tunes. I guess you could say I’m a “fool’ for Fool, but in a good way. The electro-soul and R&B funk swooner is the Canadian artist’s latest exhibition of fine musicality and expert delivery, a Jai Paul meets Opia and RKCB sort of gooey, moody sonic courter. It’s a new taste from Zanski’s forthcoming EP, Derivative Emotion, arriving next month. You can also jam out to Fool on Spotify, here.

I’m a very level headed person who doesn’t startle easily (my friends use me as a “human shield” when we visit haunted houses for Halloween). So it’s very hard to make me jump or act frenetic with sudden noises. You could say my reaction to such a predicament might be reflected in the slinky burning drawl of this new Zanski jam, Reaction To Sudden Noise. The hazy, sooty velour of the song is a must for fans of projects like Opia, Two Feet, slenderbodies, and the such. The Toronto based alt R&B/soul artist seduces us with his torrid funk guitars and his buttery voice on the fine addition to his slowly growing repertoire of chic and sexy tunes. An EP will be arriving on May 18th. For now, you can also spin Reaction To Sudden Noise off Spotify, here.

Toronto based artist and satin crooner Zanski continues to leave us flushed with his brand of molten R&B funk and slick curling electronica with new single Hazy. His gooey vocals cut through the song’s funk guitars and rotund bass with ease. It’s yet another smoldering, searing spectacular with a whole lot of swagger that reminds us of Opia and Ben Khan. Hazy follows on the heels of steamy chic heater Mess, which you can stream below. Both songs can be found on Zanski’s new debut EP, Movies At The End Of Youth, which you can stream in full on Soundcloud, here. Alternate streaming options and purchasing links can be found, here.

We were introduced to Zanski last month when we encountered the Toronto based artist and his single Don’t Say Later. Tom Probizanski, who is influenced by the likes of Childish Gambino, D’Angelo, and James Vincent McMorrow, immediately impressed us with an irresistible recipe entailing contagious strutting R&B funk and some spectacular vocal skills. Zanski now follows that gem up with ‘What Have You Done?’, once again offering up contagious warbles and sultry riffs as he serenades us with his creamy falsettos and a whole lot of confident swagger. Whatever it is we’ve done, we’ll do it again if this is the sublime music that will greet our ears afterwards. If you’re fond of Opia, with the silky heat of Childish Gambino and the curling funk of Jai Paul, Zanski’s got you covered. You can also stream ‘What Have You Done?’ on Spotify, here.

There seems to be a handful of cities in the world that gives us a large percentage of the best emerging artists. Toronto is certainly one of them, especially when it comes to cutting edge R&B inspired music. Case in point, Tom Probizanski, who drops irresistible R&B funk and urban pop tunes as Zanski. Tom is influenced by artists like Childish Gambino, D’Angelo, and James Vincent McMorrow, which certainly shows in his recent single Don’t Say Later. It’s a contagious strutting jam with Jai Paul like funk guitars and Gallant level vocal calisthenics. Once you’ve been seduced by this jam, you won’t be able to “say later” when it comes to returning for more Zanski. Don’t Say Later can also be streamed via Spotify, here.
