October is going to begin in a rather epic fashion. Not only do I get to see my favorite trip hop and electro-gaze band headline the Fox Theater in Oakland on October 5th, but that very same band, Phantogram, will be dropping their eagerly anticipated new album THREE the Friday after the show! It’s going to be exciting hearing the new material live before the album arrives. We have, after all, already fallen hard for so many tracks revealed off of THREE. And I have a feeling the costumes, lights, and stage persona prepared for Phantogram’s new tour are going to be over the top imaginative. You’re Mine is Sarah and Josh’s latest treat from the LP, an abrupt throbbing pulse of glitchy soulful trip pop. If you haven’t ordered your copy of THREE yet, snag it here on iTunes.

Apparently, this one’s been floating around for some months now, but it’s getting a fresh release in the UK on August 24th after it was released here in the US on PIAS earlier this year. The new fanfare resulted in You’re Mine falling right in my eager laps. Your’e Mine comes from a talented producer from Belgium named Raving George, who enlisted the always enchanting vocals of fellow countryman Oscar & The Wolf on the moody tune. Deep house combines with Oscar & The Wolf’s indie electronic sound for a thumping brooder steeped in entrancing beats and meditative bearing.
