Australian R&B sensation Vanessa Elisha and esteemed producer of opaque soundscapes XXYYXX have proven themselves a divine union on last year’s torridly impelling Out Of Time, so it comes as no surprise that they make such a sumptuous team once again on new single Good Ones Go, a smoldering cover of Drake’s Good Ones. Vanessa Elisha’s moody burning vocal calisthenics evoke BANKS’ dark burning allure, while XXYYXX’s gritty future production creates a more than tactile compelling, restless consuming experience. The cover happened by accident (and such a happy accident, at that). Vanessa found herself struggling to write in the studio one night. She states: “I opened up this 8-bar loop and I immediately heard the cover over it, so I just started recording it for shits and giggles. It wasn’t really meant to be anything. So many people cover Drake and I didn’t want to be corny about it, but the more I worked on it the cooler it got. This is definitely one of my favorite Drake vocal and lyrical performances.” Vanessa Elisha’s Good Ones Go couldn’t be farther from corny. It’s quickly become one of my all time favorite covers of Drake, and as she said herself, there are a ton of those floating out and about.  You can purchase the track from iTunes, here.

Australian chanteuse and obvious artist to watch Vanessa Elisha blew us all out of the water earlier this year when she dropped Out Of Time, on which she collaborated with exceptionally skilled producer XXYYXX. The smoldering future R&B song is a fiery inferno of lovelorn torment and longing misery. At dead center of the seething storm is Vanessa’s audacious voice, its deep smokiness and remarkable range bringing to mind other extraordinary vocalists like BANKS and George Maple. The hot embers of XXYYXX’s booming bass and the mystique of Vanessa Elisha’s sultry performance are now visually represented by a smoldering intense music video, one which I’ve visited countless times already. Out Of Time is available now on iTunes

An intriguing young artist from Minnesota who goes by the well fitting name Karizma had me deeply fascinated by the music he releases on his Call Me Karizma project. New song Euphoria is lo-fi raw but melodically alluring, an angsty bedroom pop punk and mellow hip hop ballad which comes off like an idiosyncratic fusion of Blink 182, Youth Lagoon, Twenty One Pilots, Watsky, and My Chemical Romance.  Euphoria, as its name suggests, is a carefree, blithe sparkler, one I find infinitely addictive. Karizma just finished touring with artists including Mod Sun, Blackbear, and Max Schneider, and it’s obvious he’s already developing a devout fan base that will only grow fantastically in size. A quick dive into Karizma’s other music on Soundcloud lead me to a song that slipped by me last year produced by xxyyxx. Visit entrancing Karma, below.

Australian songstress Vanessa Elisha joins forces with brilliant producer XXYYXX on new song Out Of Time. It’s not the first time the two have worked together. You might recall that the smoky voiced vocalist featured on XXYYXX’s Unknown previously. It’s a heaving, intense BANKS and George Maple like whirlwind of fire on the future R&B song, a song so captivating, it’s numbing. Snag the magnificent song on iTunes.

If ever there were a match made in music heaven, this might be it. Fast rising Los Angeles based singer songwriter SIVIK is already one of my top favorite new acts this year, and now his synthpop song U Got has received an enrapturing remix by Florida’s always intoxicating XXYYXX. The producer turns the track into a skittering, heady electronic R&B jam. The provocative remix is deeply sensual and shiny, satiny smooth. I’ve always loved how dark XXYYXX’s productions are, and he certainly amps it up on this one near the end of the remix. Get ready to be haunted.

SALES released their debut self titled EP yesterday, and they’re here to charm us immensely with EP track and new single Getting It On. Like much of the Florida duo’s other music that I’ve shared so far, Getting It On is a mellow yet resounding song, carrying much dreamy minimalism and endearing earthiness. The EP closes out with a haunting remix of their song Toto by producer XXYYXX, which you can stream below.

If you haven’t heard the new xxyyxx, you’d better remedy that, now. The Florida producer will melt you into your shoes with this amazing, frenetic new single, titled Zygote, filled with bouncing, weightless beats and endless soulful vibe. The track samples and flips R&B queen Mary J Blige’s Family Affair, a song that brings back such memories for me from when it was a huge hit. My only complaint? Zygote is over far too soon.

In a rush to run out the door for another night of amazing live music, but I’ve already put off sharing this track for many a day, and I had my heart on sharing it today, so here we go. Electronic R&B pop songstress SZA recently shared a brand new tune titled Childs Play, and the stunning, sensual track features Chance the Rapper on some lyrical duties. The production is done by none other than XXYYXX. It’s a mellow winning combo, indeed.
