Los Angeles based producer, singer, and multi-media talent Xie continues to her trajectory as a female trailblazer in the scene with DRIP, her most pop/R&B leaning release to date. It’s a steamy inferno embroiled in turbulent trap pop and brimming with incendiary drops, as well as Xie’s own scorching hot, sultry burning vocals. And it arrives just as the rising star is preparing to make her Coachella debut this weekend, too. I won’t be there, but fellow IHM writer Nick will be, and I’m insanely jealous that he might get to catch DRIP live. Trap has never been more sexy and fierce.

Xie may only have a few tracks and remixes out and about, but at the rate this Los Angeles based producer, singer, and multi-media artist has been going, she’s swiftly becoming one of our favorite new producers/artists. A few weeks ago, she captivated us with her ethereal voice and her bubbly aerated charm on Habits. Re-visit our feature of the original, here. She’s since joined the drove of producers who have hopped on the Sick Boy remixes train. The immersive experience she offers up sets her remix of The Chainsmokers’ world dominating hit apart from the rest of the countless edits that have surfaced lately. Sick Boy takes on an extra ominous and inky aura on her dark rumbling, ominous contorting future trap re-work. It’s an ever shifting array of icy furrows and barbed jabs that leave us tingling and quivering in ecstasy. And it’s all a free download from Toneden, here.

Xie has certainly become a “habit” of sorts. In the past year, we’ve grown accustomed to being drawn to the rising Los Angeles based producer, singer, and multimedia artist’s electronic concoctions, be it her aerated remixes or a whimsically captivating original like this song, Habits. Ethereal vocals and a bubbly charm that evoke Elohim are paired with the ornately whizzing, intricately darting future trap of Whethan or Louis The Child on this dark yet larkish, naughty yet sweet track, a precarious flirtation and dangerous frolic with nimble kicks and feathery flickers. You can grab the song from Toneden, here.

Aside from how amazing young teenage pop sensation Billie Eilish tends to be, if there’s anything else we learned this year, it’s that the fast rising Los Angeles star’s music also lends itself perfectly to discerning remix efforts. Los Angeles based producer, singer, and multimedia artist Xie is responsible for one of our favorite Billie Eilish remixes to crop up in recent months. She’s given Watch a finely nuanced, chill intoxicating future pop edit that really complements Billie’s svelte vocals. Xie’s remix is nothing short of gorgeous, a sparkling, glimmering beauty of a celestial transformation. It’s a free download, here.

It’s a behemoth task to take on a Kendrick Lamar song, whether you’re trying to remix it, cover it, or completely re-imagine it, as Los Angeles based producer, singer, and multimedia artist Xie has triumphantly done.  XieflippedKendrick Lamar’s LOVE and made it all her own. She drenches the hip hop track in warm pastels and pulls it into airy effervescent future pop territory with a cover re-work both honey sweet and peppery piquant. Xie’s future bass LOVE sounds like a cross between Olivia O’brien and Terror Jr, and it’s a generous free download, here. You can also listen to the track on Spotify, here.
