Intoxicated we are by the windswept guitar pop and dreamy swirling synthpop that greets our ears as we dive into “-45″, the latest from North Londoners Wyldest. We drift into oblivion on the warm and fleecy, gazey and feathery treat, which the band wrote in the dead of winter earlier this year. For a melancholic song named “-45″, it sure feels snug and cozy, comforting and toasty. The single comes off of Wyldest’s new EP, Hitchhiker, arriving September 29th. You might recall we eagerly shared its title track last month, and to be honest, we’re still very much obsessing over Hitchhiker’s snappier, cheekier pop and its sizzling groove. Re-visit Hitchhiker below. Pre-order the new EP, here.

I’ve never hitchhiked in my life, but I imagine it to be an exciting and liberating experience, that is, if you’re able to avoid any dangerous situations. Wyldest’s new synthwavey electro pop jam Hitchhiker certainly feels free spirited. The North Londoners have put together a sizzling hot pop banger that harkens back to both the 80′s, with its neon synths, and the 90′s, with its R&B pop groove. It’s like a cross between Blood Orange and Poliça, with a hint of Kiesza’s sass and Niki and the Dove’s iridescent sheen. Hitchhiker is the title track from a new Wyldest EP arriving on September 29. Purchase the single from iTunes, here. You can also pre-order the full EP, here.

North London’s Wyldest is back with their ever intoxicating blend of shoegaze and dream pop on new song Stalking Moon. Wyldest encompasses us with a beautiful yet taut tension on the immersive song, whose tempestuous power is initially masked by its guitar swirl languor, enchantingly crystalline vocals, and vaporous shimmers. The alluringly hazy haunter was written about how there’s almost always something interesting or dark lurking underneath every person. Wyldest explains that Stalking Moon is “about hiding secrets and hunting for secrets in others”. The gauzy gem is available now on iTunes.

It’s with much elation that I get to share with you a new track from North London’s Wyldest, who first swept me away eight months ago with saccharine debut, Cruel Dusk. The trio are ever bewitching on Dark Matter, a fully intoxicating mosaic of driving dream pop, indie pop, and shoegaze. Dark Matter will be the title track on Wyldest’s debut EP. I’m under a deep spell from its sparkling guitar and hazy harmonies, which take a surprise turn late in the song, taking on a spirited urgency and a vigorous zest. Purchase the incredible single on iTunes.

I’m still swept away every time I hit play on Wyldest’s debut single Cruel Dusk, and their new music video for their very first offering calls for an essential revisit. The video’s lo-fi, washed out, opaque quality befits Cruel Dusk’s swirly dream pop ambiance. It’s a song that evokes acts like Slow Dive and Wild Nothing with its luminous yet hazy atmosphere, brimming with bittersweet inflection. The video was shot earlier this year by Eva Bowman and it sees the North London trio floating across the Sussex Downs. Wyldest has a debut EP planned for later this year, leaving me eagerly awaiting more new music.

Yes, indeed, it’s another day of fantastic debuts from new acts. It’s never a slow day when it comes to new music. From North London comes a new trio named Wyldest. Their debut single Cruel Dusk is a saccharine indie rock and dream pop song full of glistening guitars and a Slow Dive or Wild Nothings evoking swirly, foggy atmosphere. Wispy, ethereal vocals join the beautiful song’s lustrous ambiance.
