I’ve been such a huge fan of UK band Wolf Alice’s grungy alt rock music. It’s the kind of grainy, scuzzy, glorified stuff that brings me back a couple of decades. Case in point, their new growling single Giant Peach. Wolf Alice has finally picked up some extra buzz this year, having been nominated as a BBC Sound of 2015. I’ll also finally get to catch them live March 13th at Popscene in San Francisco, and it’s one of several shows I’m incredibly excited about. Giant Peach is taken from Wolf Alice’s forthcoming debut album, My Love Is Cool.

Next week, on May 26, London indie rockers Wolf Alice will release their Creature Songs EP, a release I’ve been eagerly looking forward to. The alt rock band popped onto my map over a year ago with fantastic, 90’s flavored, grungy rock and shoegazey tunes like Bros and Every Cloud. I’ve already shared most of the songs from the new EP, including Moaning Lisa Smile and Storms, but with the full EP now streaming on their soundcloud, I get to share a new one, Heavenly Creatures. This one’s a more hushed and gentler brooder. Revisit Moaning Lisa Smile below, the opening track off Creature Songs, and quite the crunchy, fuzzy delight.

I’ve certainly been a huge fan of every tune that London rockers Wolf Alice has been giving us, and the same can be said of their latest debut, Storms, off of upcoming EP Creature Songs, out May 26. The exhilarating track exemplifies their 90’s evoking shoegazey, gritty rock style quite perfectly. On this one, I find myself reminded of The Cranberries at times.

I’ve been waiting for this new single Moaning Lisa Smile from London rockers Wolf Alice. They’ve been silent for the past half year, and I’ve been waiting for them to release new music and gain a ton more well deserved attention since I first heard their propulsive, gritty, 90’s evoking track Bros and a few other choice cuts nearly a year ago. The new single is deliciously grimy and noisy, plus, I love the word play on the song title, too. The assertive single is our first taste off an upcoming EP titled Creature Songs, out May 26 on Dirty Hit Records. I can’t wait to hear more tracks off it.

OFFICIAL VID: Wolf Alice – Blush

November 8, 2013

British alt rock band Wolf Alice released an EP titled Blush in October, several months after I first stumbled upon the grungy, shoegazey band. I fell for Wolf Alice’s songs immediately, and have noticed their name getting mentioned more and more. I wouldn’t be surprised if they became far more well known and successful in the future. This week, Wolf Alice released a music video for the title track of their EP. The polished, yet gritty tune starts out very low key and delicate before breaking into form with noisier, fuzzy guitars and impassioned vocals. There’s a quality to Wolf Alice’s music that brings me back to the late 90’s. And I love it.

London indie rock band Wolf Alice have a new tune for us today too. Oh yea, by the way, the single artwork is NSFW, if you hadn’t noticed yet. Back in May, I stumbled upon this band and proceeded to obsessively listen to their tunes all day long. Their alt rock tunes have a wonderful grungy, shoegaze sheen that I can’t help but enjoy. There are definite Silversun Pickup like moments in the instrumentation. She is the lead single off Wolf Alice’s coming EP Blush, out on October 7 on Chess Club Records. Head over to SoundCloud to enjoy some of the previous featured tunes that I had on repeat. You won’t regret it. I’m gonna tack on their single Bros below just for easy play. But don’t miss their other tunes.
