OFFICIAL VID: Benga – Pour Your Love ft. Marlene

July 26, 2012

As the sheer amount of similar sounding brostep has increased over the past year or so, I’ve paid a little less attention to dubstep than it truly deserves as it’s so much work to find the gems. Benga’s Pour Your Love featuring Marlene on vocals might not be genius, but Benga IS, after all, one of the UK forefathers of dubstep, and this sounds pretty decent.

Love Thy Brother remixes

June 21, 2012

Whoa, stumbled on a butt kicking remix of Metric’s Artificial Nocturne (the lead track off their new album Synthetica). I was searching for footage of the secret show in SF they did the other night which I was at, and came upon this which has a very decent number of hits for only being on the internetz for a day so far. So, I clicked and listened. Nicely done, Love Thy Brother. Very grand, glorious, and intense!

I had to find out more about this Canadian production duo, so I checked out their soundcloud and was pleasantly surprised by some other bass heavy mixes. Listen to their remix of Lana Del Rey’s Radio and Daughter’s Youth below and click on over to their soundcloud for more. The remix of Youth really blew me away.

Calvin Harris X Example (KillSonik Remix)!!!

June 12, 2012

The fist pumping EDM party gurl in me squealed. No shame, man, no shame. I enjoy some Example once in awhile, and I enjoy some Calvin Harris once in awhile. And I sure as freak enjoy some hard drops and wobbles every so often too. Put them all together, and my eyes will light up. Here’s the KillSonik Remix of Calvin Harris’ We’ll Be Coming Back featuring Example. I love Example’s vocals and how they sound similar to Pendulum at times. Calvin Harris does a great job producing the beats on the original. KillSonik knows how to throw it down and drop it. This is pretty dang good, in my opinion. And it’s not easy to make me feel that way with the endless EDM drivel out there these days. It’s been so rare for most popular dubstep to actually be truly good dubstep, that quite honestly, I’ve lost a little bit of love for the genre and haven’t been as eager to check out the latest stuff. This little fella put some faith back into me. I’ll include the more laid back, original dance track below the KillSonik remix. Example and Calvin Harris are currently working on a music video for the decent track. They should make one for the KillSonik Remix instead!

Knife Party has a new EP out titled Rage Valley, and it’s super raging if you’re into the hard wobbles and drops. The Pendulum side project has pretty much become their main project with how popular KP has become over the past half year or so. Here’s one of the tracks off the EP, Centipede. Whether it has anything to do with the classic video game Centipede, I’m not sure, but it definitely has its fair share of drops, wubs, and bloopy sounds. It’s a head banging, fist pumping track, but honestly, sometimes, some of these dubstep tracks sound too similar. There are large parts of Centipede that majorly remind me of some Bassnectar work on his album Divergent Spectrum. Either way, it’s going to be fun seeing Knife Party headline the subsonic tent at BFD 2012 this weekend in the SF Bay Area! But I do hope Pendulum is not defunct now despite the success of Knife Party…

OFFICIAL VID: Skrillex – Bangarang

February 17, 2012

Title track off Skrillex’s latest EP now has a video. Here’s Bangarang. I wonder how Skrilly is feeling about all the personal stuff in the news these days. Welcome to the world of superstardom, Sonny! Paparazzi ain’t going to leave you alone anymore, shaved head, bangs, dorky glasses and all. Wobble away!

Who’s ready for something upbeat and head banging fist pumping? Then listen to this… the Zedd Remix of Skrillex’s RE:GENERATION Project track, Breakn’ A Sweat featuring The Doors. Yea, buddy! Fist pump away!

OFFICIAL VID: Rusko – Somebody To Love

January 17, 2012

I give you today’s dose of wobbles, brought to you by Rusko with his new video for Somebody To Love. Not a spectacular track, but definitely decent and does the job.

Time for some hard electronic music

The 10 minute track is a mix of music off their Adrenaline EP releasing next week. Keep an eye out for these guys, they’re definitely going to blow up more this year in the electronic dance scene.

Wickedly noisy and industrial

December 26, 2011

Neosignal remixed Noisia’s track Sigma, slowing the beat down and creating a very industrial and noisy version. It’s pure evil. Check it out. The duo are German producers, not surprising considering the sound of this remix.

Levels remix in full

December 23, 2011

Hmm. I guess the Skrillex remix of top club anthem Levels by Avicii awhile ago wasn’t the “full” version at over 3 minutes long. Skrilly just shared this almost five minute long version on youtube and marked it as [Full]. So, fine, here it is again, this time it’s the true, start to finish complete version of Levels with its more than fair share of super hard wobbling. What better way to start the holiday weekend, eh?
