It’s hard to believe over two years have gone by since British duo Whilk and Misky burst on the scene to light all the viral charts on fire with their soulful, bluesy brand of indie electronic music. While some of their early gems reminded us of earthy tunes from the likes of Milky Chance and Vance Joy, new single Oh Brother veers towards the downtempo soul and underground electronica side of things. The hypnotic slow burner features exquisite vocals by fellow Londoner Nia Wyn, who self describes as “a hiphop soul in a blues body”. Oh Brother builds from shadowy introspection to Bob Moses like slinky warbling, deep sophisticated house splendor. The song is a second taste from Whilk & Misky’s forthcoming My Round EP, out May 26th. Purchase the single or pre-order the EP via iTunes, here.

We’ve waited many a month for a fresh one from major buzzmakers Whilk and Misky. The London based duo finally return to dazzle us with their first refined single from an upcoming EP named My Round. Only A Drink is a soulful and folksy electronic thrummer that tends to evoke Milky Chance’s earthy stomping repertoire, but permeated with the velveteen smoothness of Nick Murphy (aka Chet Faker) and a deep resounding richness in its vocals that reminds me just a tad of France’s Woodkid. My Round is scheduled to arrive on May 26th and it will include five more new originals that we can’t wait to hear. Only A Drink is more than worthy of raising our glasses to. Snag it from iTunes, here.

Whilk and Misky made quite a stir last year with the London duo’s bluesy soulful mixture of folk and electronica that oft reminded me of Milky Chance, Chet Faker, and Vance Joy. The two piece returns with more of that formula on new song All By Myself, a chill buoyant trotter about “losing yourself in a party, going wild with no embarrassment or inhibitions, and being with your friends but being with yourself first and foremost”. Whilk and Misky worked with David Wrench (Jamie xx, FKA Twigs, Jungle, Caribou, Glass Animals) on the tune, one of the duo’s most brisk frisky songs so far.

Earlier this year, a duo fresh out of London named Whilk and Misky swept us away with their soulful acoustic meets electronic music, reminding many of us of a blend of Milky Chance, Vance Joy, and Chet Faker. They have a new one for us today named Two Bridges, and though it still has a sliver of that bluesy, folksy soul vibe going on, it’s also a surprisingly heavy hitting electronic track. It’s their danciest and most garage yet, full of filthy synths and sharp edges. The spectacularly heady and hypnotic treat is more like a Disclosure meets Chet Faker concoction, a powerful and dark mind bender. Along with the new release, Whilk and Misky are also gearing up for their debut headline show on July 8th in London, over at Birthdays, Dalston.

You might recall that earlier this year, a duo out of London named Whilk and Misky made some major ripples with their brand of bluesy and soulful acoustic music. They reminded many of a mix of beloved acts like Milky Chance, Vance Joy, and Chet Faker. The duo have now returned with an extra rustic and Americana imbued tune named Burn With Me. It’s another riveting offering from the potent duo.

It’s highly likely you’ve already heard of London duo Whilk and Misky, as they’ve been stirring up a good deal of buzz recently. Their acoustic folk sound tends to remind me of a more soulful and bluesy Milky Chance, mixed with some Vance Joy and a bit of Chet Faker like crooning. Babe I’m Yours is their latest tune, a delightfully stomping and pastoral song. It’ll be on their EP The First Sip, out soon. For another growingly popular track off the EP, stream recent song Clap Your Hands below, too.
