I just about lost it last week when I was afforded an early preview of this tune, the latest single from colossally talented singer songwriter and producer Crywolf. The Echo Park based musician sends chills through me with Weight, a windswept acoustic ballad whose aching emotion weighs heavy on heart and soul. I’m much convinced there isn’t much Crywolf can’t do. I’m nearly sure his array of cinematic and atmospheric electronic opuses could move mountains, much less us, and his ability to belt his songs out with that exquisite voice while playing a million (okay, maybe a few less than a million) instruments is plain ridiculous. Now he gives us this, a desperately exposed, vulnerably haunting, bare-all sort of rousing ballad on which Crywolf melds acoustic folk with indie rock. Weight comes from Crywolf’s Skeletons EP, due out March 10th on Okami Records. The record, sure to be one of the most powerfully stirring releases this year, can be pre-ordered on iTunes

Vibe out to Toronto’s Shagabond & Maddee’s ‘Weight’. It’s their first collaborative work together with more expected on its way.
