I can’t wait for next Friday, the 11th. Why can’t I wait for it? Because, for the second time in my life, I get to catch Bag Raiders again. The Aussies will be playing with a live band at a super sold out Popscene event in San Francisco. The last time I saw these guys, it was a few years ago at Mezzanine, and it was likely the most sweaty night of sardine packed, exuberant dancing I’d ever experienced in an enclosed venue. And it was glorious. Now, if you happened to miss out on the electronic duo’s Waterfalls EP last month, you get a pass today, because the new video for the title track will give you an inkling of how great that three track release is. Waterfalls takes us back to a more pop leaning Bag Raiders after their brief stint into harder, more experimental electronica earlier this year. It’s the Shooting Stars Bag Raiders I first fell in love with on Waterfalls, but even more laid back, with a wonderfully paradise conjuring airiness. The artistic animated video for the song is pretty sweet, too. Purchase Waterfalls, here.

Funny how I inadvertently line up my posts for the day. Here’s another one somewhat related to Jay-Z. British producer Evian Christ recently signed to Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation, but he’ll still be dropping his debut EP on Tri Angle on March 17, which is great news, since I’m quite fond of Tri Angle Records. Waterfalls is the killer title track off the EP, a mesmerizing, bombastic, futuristic explosion of hip hop and electronic sound.
