I’ve always loved rain, as long as I didn’t have to get stuck in traffic during a tumultuous storm or get drenched trying to get somewhere fast. There’s a magical tranquility and a cleansing beauty to it, which Australian duo Water Park has expertly captured in their beautiful ambient pop song, Rain. I all but melt to the pure atmospheric gem. Without rain, we cannot heal and bloom once again. It’s a reminder of our innocence, and a balm for heartache. As Water Park so succinctly quips on Soundcloud, “no rain, no flowers.” Rain is transcendental, a supple and feathery sonic salve. For more of the duo’s music, head to their Soundcloud, here.

I don’t often go to water parks, and to be honest, they look like they’re total chaos most of the time. I’d probably much rather head to a deserted beach instead, where I can sink my feet into soft, warm san  and gaze longingly into a deep blue sea. Something Like Chaos, an ambient electronic piece from Australian duo Water Park, seems fitting of the latter expedition despite its name. It would be the perfect soundtrack for my soul searching adventure. Though serenely entrancing, there is indeed some unrest in Something Like Chaos’ contemplative flux. Water Park, who previously gave us wistful gem Dreaming, has returned to haunt us with their future beats & chill step inspired production on this amorphous shifting, subconscious digging, supple stirring beauty. Re-visit their prior divine concoctions on Soundcloud, here.

A coalescence of supple trip hop and lissome future bass draws us into the cool cascading currents of Tell Me, the latest from Australian duo PINES. Tell Me is a smooth euphoric dose of soothing electronica that features fellow Australian Bri Gleeson of folktronica duo Water Park on graceful gliding vocals. Tell Me is considerably more serene and frictionless compared to PINES’ prior effervescent offerings, showcasing an alternate side to the pair’s production expertise. The single is out now on iTunes.

Water Park is an indie electronic two piece who hails from Geelong in Australia who spellbound me with their music when I stumbled upon their Soundcloud earlier today. They describe their music as a mixture of eerie folk, drenched with electronic sweetness. There’s certainly plenty of wistful honey in Dreaming, a glowing gem that calls for some requisite twirling around the room to its chromatic synths and billowy vocals. There’s a familiar sadness to its undertone. I’m reminded of the moment when you wake up from a dream and are forced to recognize what’s true and what’s gone forevermore. Dreaming comes from Water Park’s Perspectives EP. Stream the rest of the EP from the duo’s Soundcloud.
