Some very fortuitous trawling on the internet earlier in the day brought me to an enigmatic new artist named Max Mute, whose Soundcloud history only goes back about four months. I was immediately struck by the earthy, bluesy allure of this mysterious newcomer’s latest single, Waiting, a creative combination of glitchy breaking future bass, and incendiary chopping trap. It’s also a pop crossover ready hit in the making with a weathered, heartfelt charm, plus it’s instantaneously hooking. You can check out more of this intriguing talent’s music on Soundcloud, here, where he has a few other originals uploaded. Stream or download Waiting, which is out on Hegemon, here.

New Italian duo Malihini has been turning ears with their music since they broke out of the gates with debut single Waiting. They’ve now shared a music video for their recent second single, Miss, which is a rhythmic entrancing minimalist pop and wistful enthralling art rock song. Malihini describe Miss as “a love song, containing memories and hopes and fears.” It’s a captivating experimental piece with a riveting trip hop groove. You can stream Malihini’s debut, Waiting, below. It’s also a very unique and captivating listen. Malihini will be playing their debut headline show at The Waiting Room in London on October 2nd.

I suppose it’s rather ironic that Seramic’s second song is entitled Waiting, considering how eagerly I’ve been doing exactly that for the mysterious act’s follow up to stunning debut, People Say. Waiting’s bold swagger and jazzy splendor are a mighty mixture of soul, funk, gospel, and blues, a sure draw for anyone who’s been as heavily obsessed with the likes of Jack Garratt, Chet Faker, and Jungle as I’ve been.

Vök’s Waiting is breathtaking, a simmering R&B and electrifying trip pop explosion of glacial elegance and luscious heat. Its smooth sashay, reminiscent of Sweden’s Little Dragon, and its The Knife like bubbling effervescence are simply irresistible. We revisit the ridiculously good song today via its brand new music video, whose majestic panoramas and unbelievable scenery reinforces my belief that

home country of Iceland might be one of the most gorgeous places on earth. Waiting is available for purchase on iTunes.

Icelandic duo Vök has revealed a gorgeous new single named Waiting, its R&B inflected electronic pop fully intoxicating as it sparkles gracefully and simmers softly. Waiting is both icy and warm, a luscious song I can’t seem to get enough of all day long. Waiting carries some Little Dragon like glacial sashay within its The Knife evoking electropop and lightly skittering trip hop. Waiting will be out tomorrow, February 18th.

Slowly, but surely, a kind of a trip hop revival has been ongoing in the past while. I was just marveling over that fact quite happily last night while watching Haelos’ US debut at Popscene in San Francisco. The movement isn’t really a new one, considering the popularity of acts like London Grammar and the heralded return of Massive Attack just this week, but it certainly seems to be gaining strength. Stockholm based artist Steele bring us heaps of that trip hop grandeur via a spectacular debut EP that includes this longing song, Waiting, whose slow burning tension and dark mystique evoke Portishead and Massive Attack. Listen to Steel’s gloriously haunting four track debut EP, Opium, on Soundcloud.

It’s a slamming electronic garden of Eden when Australian producer Throttle unites with Dutch producer Oliver Heldens on a blazing original named Waiting. Luscious disco groove and jolting future house beats combine into one hot, rhythmic dance track sure to get bodies moving feverishly and euphorically. It’s a sure fire way to kick off the year right. Waiting is available now on Beatport.

Despite being quite the fan of Klyne (formerly Nick Klein) for the most part of the year, I’m only this week picking up on a song they unleashed late last week, and it’s just as brilliantly good as everything else we’ve heard from the electronic pop duo. Waiting is soulfully smooth. Klyne’s seductive vocals on the track remind me of Years and Years’ Olly Alexander. In fact, the sweltering electro R&B tendencies of the tune remind me of Years and Years overall, but more textured and heady, luscious and complex. Don’t miss the searing hot guitar solo at the end, too. It’s pure lustful sexiness. Waiting is available now on iTunes and on 12″ vinyl, here.
