The virtues of being a VIRTU fan are endless. That much has been more than apparent after his stunning performances on both remixes and originals. And now, the Los Angeles based electronic artist has taken on Imad Royal and Mark Johns’ sensational rendition of Nirvana’s Heart-Shaped Box for his latest track. VIRTU’s remix starts out slow and deliberate, building ever so intensely towards its mind melting drop. Dubstep and electro house interweave on the glorious edit. Shuddering bass and laser-cut synths leave us trembling in bliss. Why can’t there be more rock and electronica crossovers like this magnificent electro grunge track? Download/stream the track, here.

VIRTU’s new original is christened Let You Go, but we’re committed to never letting go of the phosphorescent future bass masterpiece, a sprightly and animated sojourn with a smooth silky finish. The Los Angeles based producer has dazzled many a music head with his amazing remixes. With Let You Go, he reminds us he’s just as good, if not even better, at penning and delivering stellar originals. Let You Go’s aerated synths and crashing drums are grand and exuberant. Let You Go bursts with headstrong conviction, but does so like a beautiful astral projection, splattering us with prismatic colors and drenching us in cosmic vibes. VIRTU calls it the beginning of a new approach to his project. Download Let You Go, here.

Though 2017′s probably going to be even more massive for Chicago’s Whethan (fka Wheathin), it’s obvious the fast rising producer seriously slayed 2016. Though I’m hard pressed to select a favorite Whethan release, his collaboration with singer songwriter Oliver Tree, When I’m Down, is certainly high up on my list. That exuberantly infectious, jaunty charming tune is subjected to an intoxicating remix by Southern California’s Virtu this week. While the original was all ‘sunshine and chill’, Virtu’s When I’m Down is cool and moody. Don’t get me wrong though. The remix is as electrifying and energetic as ever… It’s a grandly potent, urgent jouncing future bass and chill trap renovation. You can download the remix for free, here.

It’s been less than a month since I experienced the immensity of ILLENIUM live. I Heart Moosiq was even fortunate enough to sit down and chat with the Colorado based producer prior to his sold out show. You can read the interview, here. Today, we get to revisit ILLENIUM’s Sleepwalker featuring Joni Fatora, via a beautiful remix by Southern California’s Virtu. This sleep walk is a sublimely floating reverie, and it carries me away to a fantastical world light years from earth. Sleepwalker’s mellifluous dubstep gets a dreamy aerial future bass makeover endlessly sweeping and massively cinematic. Virtu’s magical remix is a free download, here.

Last month, Los Angeles’ always on point electro and progressive house producer Elephante went grandly sweeping on Closer, an original featuring ravishing vocals by Portland’s Bishøp. Fellow SoCal producer Virtu offers up a bouncy luscious, sprightly buoyant remix of the song, taking us to sky high heights of quivering, warbling euphoria with his future bass inspired take on the song. Download the exuberant remix for free, here.
