You know you’re in for a mighty fine treat when 23 year old UK singer songwriter and producer MNEK drops a fresh tune on us. Over the years, he’s racked up a billion streams across his releases and collaborations. That’s how much rapport and affinity he inspires in people. I imagine a whole lot of dancing has occurred, too. And dance you’ll want to do as we take in Tongue, a smoldering and sexy electronic banger about falling in love and being too nervous to say it out loud. It’s a flushed and sensuous, passionate and feverish R&B electro jam and an absolutely electrifying return. Watch MNEK’s lyric video for Tongue below. Tongue is available across all major platforms, here.

I’ve actually been jamming out to this next one for much of the month already, so really, this share is truly “for you”. It’s about time I introduced you to new dance project Bleach Baby, if you aren’t already familiar with the group. They make their debut with a massive banger named This Is For You, whose big beats and fiery flair are a pulse pumping eruption of UK house crossed with future house. The group takes cues from the likes of Don Diablo, The Magician, and Tchami, which comes as no surprise after dancing my heart out to the chunky beats and springy chords found on the song. Bleach Baby’s first single also recalls that electrifying energy and vibrancy oft associated with Kiesza and Clean Bandit. This Is For You is lifted from Bleach Baby’s forthcoming debut EP. Purchase the booming, resounding single, out via Liftoff Recordings and Armada Deep, here.

London producer SOPHIE has been breaking new ground with her music for quite some time now, but she really pushed the boundaries of electronica and pop, as well as conventional expectations, when she released her single It’s Okay To Cry last month. The punch, kick, and pop of her electronic compositions often evoke comparison to PC Music’s roster, and there’s a sleek futuristic modernism to her songs. SOPHIE continues shaking up the scene with her new single, Ponyboy, out now via MSMSMSM INC / Trangressive / Future Classic. It’s an acute jabbing, sharp clattering, and edgy seething track that melds futuristic art pop with metallic clanging house, as well as a sliver of classic soulful UK house. SOPHIE self directed the rave-y glam video for Ponyboy, too. If there’s any one forward thinking producer to watch closely in the coming year, it’s SOPHIE, who’s obviously going to continue blowing our minds and ears with her creative genius.

A freshly minted jam like Breathe goes hand in hand with a visualizer that includes “tic-tac” like mints, or so we learn as we bust out our smooth dance moves to this springy bounding track from British producer Jax Jones. The UK house heater features vocals by singer songwriter Ira Wroldsen and an irresistible classic house groove. Breathe’s sexy bounce and spacious but vibrant beats leave it hard for us to catch our own breaths as we dance feverishly to the contagious track. Breathe is out now and available, here.

It was a long wait, but London Grammar’s sophomore album Truth Is A Beautiful Thing finally arrived this year, and the English trio once again took our collective breaths away with their operatic dream pop and orchestral trip hop, lead by Hannah Reid’s pure and flawless voice. Standout album cut Hell To The Liars gets turned a completely different direction as North London house and garage duo Gorgon City transforms it into a deep pounding, dark pumping club jam. It’s a glorious remix whose rumbling bass and propulsive booming beats are a stark thrilling contrast to Hannah’s high flying, aerial diving voice.

NAATIONS, one of our favorite new Australian duos this past year, are back after their cameo on massive summer anthem Real Life with Duke Dumont and Gorgon City. The pair, consisting of Van She’s Nicky Night Time and singer songwriter Nat Dunn, ignites an afternoon dance party in my room with their uplifting new song Want Me More, which leaves us wanting more with each new listen. It’s a vivacious burst of larger-than-life, gospel-imbued house and dance pop, rife with punchy piano chords and a deep rhythmic bassline as well as a contagious percussive roll. NAATIONS briefly announced a tour over the summer that would’ve brought them to Popscene in San Francisco. Sadly, the show was cancelled. I’ll be waiting for them to make new plans. Re-visit their prior vibrantly hooking anthems on Soundcloud, here. Stream Want Me More via Spotify, Deezer, or Google Play, here.

I gladly re-visited The xx’s latest album I See You whilst I was out in the beauty of the wilderness a few weekends ago after a long time away, and I was quickly reminded of how immense a release it is. On Hold is one of the album’s stand out tracks. Who else, but Jamie xx himself has given the song an unexpected remix that emphasizes the trio’s brilliance? On Hold gets a hypnotic and glorious workover brimming with Jamie xx’s signature underground sound. Step into the dark club, get on the dance floor, and contort your body in visceral pleasure to the remix, which even comes with a freshly minted music video. Jamie xx’s remix of On Hold is available now on limited 12″ white vinyl from The xx’s store, here.

“Give me what I want, can’t you see I’ve got this craving for you,” are the lyrics that open up Temptress’ wicked new jam, and it just about sums up how I’ve been feeling about the South London duo ever since they hooked me with Guilty Pleasure late last year. The pair bring us a lavish dose of UK house/garage and smoldering R&B funk on the incendiary track. We’ve been waiting for What I Want for quite some time, and its certainly an opulently enthralling, scalding hot banger. No doubt this is a duo from the UK to watch closely. Temptress’ sound falls right in line with our love for Disclosure, AlunaGeorge, and the likes. Revisit their prior releases on Soundcloud, here.

Let’s turn up that Miami heat with a sexy deep house groover from Adam Foster. He enlists some smoldering vocals by Daniela on vibrant pumping Talk. Trust me, you won’t want to do any talking once these beats hit you hard. All you’ll want to do is dance, preferably on a beach on a hot summer night. Adam Foster brings us an abundance of UK house and garage vibes with his sizzling dance dazzler, out now on Swiss label Sirup Music.

Savage and visceral indeed is Trust Me, a sublimely hypnotic collaboration between Swedish dance producers Adrian Lux and Savage Skulls. But Trust Me is also dark and melodic. It’s a bewitching four to the floor thumper with a sliver of eeriness and an icy undercurrent in its dusky beats and its spellbinding vocals by Soul. The deep house thriller is out now on Spinnin’ Deep. Download/stream, here.
