Uffie made a grand return last week with her first single in nearly a decade, giving us a sumptuously sleek and crisp bopping delight named Drugs. She’s quickly followed up the unexpected surprise with a guest appearance on Swedish electronic legends Galantis’ latest single, Spaceship. Lift up and blast off with this superb team-up as we get some classic Galantis vibes on the mellifluous bounding single, full of vivacious energy and buoyant synths. Perhaps this can be Grimes’ new theme song for when her new beau sends her to outer space on a Falcon 9. Galantis says: “
‎’Spaceship’ takes us to the core of Galantis and our love for dance music. We couldn’t be more excited to join forces with Uffie. The first time we heard ‘Pop The Glock’, it blew our minds… and since then, Uffie’s music has always stuck with us. See you on the dance floor!” Spaceship is out on Big Beat Records, stream/download, here.

For nearly a decade, Uffie has been absent from the scene, aside from her surprise appearance on Charli XCX’s excellent mixtape Number 1 Angel. So the fact that the synthpop/alt dance artist has suddenly popped back up with a new single is an unexpected delight. And that single, named Drugs, is a spectacular treat, too. Spacious and sleek electronic pop vaults Uffie right back to the tippy top of the pop ranks. Drugs is her first single in seven long years. Its pellucid synths and crisp beats are reminiscent of both SOPHIE and BloodPop®. Aside from Drugs, Uffie is also due to drop a new song with Galantis tomorrow! Stay tuned for that gem.
