Brooklyn indie pop act HAERTS’ Hemiplegia received a remix treatment from London duo Avec Sans, and it’s great synth rendition filled with energetic bounce and ephemeral, choppy vocals. Upon listening to this outstanding remix, I had to delve deeper into who this London duo is, and I was pleasantly surprised to find they recently covered TV On The Radio’s Will Do! I’m a big fan of TV On The Radio, and nothing compares to the original, off stellar 2011 album Nine Types Of Light (and also features Priscilla Ahn on backing vocals), but this electropop take on the tune is a wonderful new approach on the song. For one more Avec Sans taste, check out last year’s The Answer, which carries ample dark undertones in its somewhat CHVRHCES like production, along with explosive vocals.

Dope doesn’t begin to describe this new tune by Brooklyn artist OnCue that samples Banks’ fantastic Shlohmo produced song Brain. Closer heavily utilizes the haunting soundscape Shlohmo created for Banks, but the new number is produced by ARW. Obviously, OnCue is adept at utilizing samples and turning them into amazing new tracks, considering the last time we heard from him, he was sampling TV on the Radio’s Staring at the Sun to great result. There’s a very The Weeknd like vibe going on with this new track, minus the falsetto vocals. Revisit Staring At The Stars, produced by CJ Luzi, below from a few months ago.

Dave Sitek (of TV On The Radio) has been doing some amazing things by himself. Remixes, productions, you name it. Of all genres, too! Check out his dope remix of El-P and Killer Mike’s Sea Legs, off Run the Jewels. Come January 13, El-P and Killer Mike, aka Run The Jewels, will release a European edition of their highly acclaimed, self titled album. This remix will be on it. It’s like Run The Jewels met up with Death Grips for a jam session.

I’m a big dope for TV On The Radio, so I immediately recognized that this new track by Brooklyn artist OnCue samples Staring at the Sun, one of my favorite TV On The Radio tunes. Staring At The Stars is produced by CJ Luzi, and surprisingly, the sampling works wonderfully with the rapping. There’s a catchy chorus to boot. Staring at the Stars is off OnCue’s Leftovers 2 project which will drop next Monday, November 25.

Brooklyn indie art rockers TV on the Radio also released a video today for their new track Mercy. The rambunctious tune is so signature TVotR. It’s so delightful to have them back. The video debuted on that janky Myspace player, so please excuse any lag on the video. Here’s to hoping that these guys are working on a new album!

OFFICIAL VID: TV on the Radio – Million Miles

August 28, 2013

As a TVotR fan, this is a must share of the day. Back in July, TV on the Radio shared a great new single titled Mercy. It gave me high hopes that they were working on a new album. Since then, they’ve confirmed they are indeed working on a new release and they have another new track for us titled Million Miles. The video debuted on Myspace (please excuse the bad stream). It’s a lovely, soft, soulful ballad and quite the nice serenade by Tunde Adebimpe. Revisit Mercy below the video for Million Miles for more rocking TVotR.
