Thomas Jack has been a hermit this year, and we’ve been missing the producer’s balmy expertise in the interim, particularly now that we’re in the midst of summer. But what’s this? He’s suddenly re-surfaced out of Australia with a remix of one of our favorite dream folk and ambient electronic artists, Haux! And boy has he surprised us with this deep hypnotic take on Haux’s Homegrown. Thomas Jack’s deep house remix takes full advantage of Haux’s haunting vocals and the song’s meandering beauty and introspective ambiance. The breathtakingly entrancing re-work is available from major outlets, here.

Thomas Jack seems to be driving the nail home when it comes to showcasing his brilliance as the days count down to his set at Outside Lands Music Festival this Friday in Golden Gate Park (alongside an after show at Mezzanine during the weekend, too). The Australian producer follows up on last week’s beautiful deep house remix of José González’s This Is How We Walk On The Moon with yet another surprise. This time around, he’s given RÜFÜS DU SOL’s You Were Right an entrancing deep house edit both crisp and refreshing. A hint of breezy tropics rolls through the track via its Balearic elements, but You Were Right is, for the most part, yet another display of the gifted resourcefulness of Thomas Jack.

As we count down the final days to Outside Lands Music Festival in early August, I’m sure there are countless people out there who are enormously excited to see Australian producer Thomas Jack, who’ll be playing both the festival itself and an after show at Mezzanine. Perhaps to whet our appetite prior to the sets, Thomas Jack has revealed a surprising new remix that I totally did not expect to encounter. He gives José González’s This Is How We Walk On The Moon a breathtaking deep house edit that carries just a sliver of that summery Thomas Jack vibe that we’ve grown much accustomed to. This is a meditative and serene remix, one that feels transcendental and near spiritual. The gorgeously slick remix, its gently pouncing beats, and its softly billowing trumpeting leave this José González and Thomas Jack fan with my heart aflutter.

It’s been ages since we heard a new one from Miami based Australian producer Thomas Jack, who sent the electronic dance world to collective cloud nine with many of his tropical house tracks in the last two years. It doesn’t feel right to make our way through this summer without some fresh new Thomas Jack, so I’m infinitely grateful that he’s reappeared with a sublime jam named Rise Up, featuring gorgeous vocals by Jasmine Thompson. Though Rise Up is a tropical delight, it also sees Thomas Jack bringing some fresh new elements into his balmy sonic euphoria. The acoustic elements on Rise Up, including its fluttering flute and plucky strings, take on life of their own, presenting us with a mad groovy 70′s vibe accompanied by jungle lush percussive elements. It’s almost as if Thomas Jack took some inspiration from SOFI TUKKER at certain moments on Rise Up. The end result is juicy intriguing and zestfully captivating. Rise Up is out now on iTunes

Thomas Jack’s soulful tropical house original Rivers is seeing a myraid of transformations on plentiful remixes these days. From last week’s nu-disco and French house edit by HUGEL, we move on to a heavenly melodic house remix by German producer Alex Schulz. This one’s meant to soundtrack those perfect moments when the most beautiful sunset adorns the sky. Alex Schulz’s remix is a heart melter, a sigh inducer, a soul uplifter to the utmost. Has the world ever seemed more lovely?

Thomas Jack’s soulful and organic tropical house jam Rivers gets a bright and rosy remix from French producer HUGEL, who bursts on to my happy radar with the irresistible edit. It’s a nu-disco and French house affair. Get those dance shoes ready, because this one’s a monster of a classy banger. The remix will be out soon on Warner Music. In the meantime, if you’re new to HUGEL like I was not too long ago, keep your dance party going with the producer’s wicked sexy remix of Robin Schulz’s Sugar, below.

In the sudden onslaught of summery, tropical electronic music, one of the pioneering voices had fallen silent for an agonizing long time. Though Australian producer Thomas Jack stayed quiet for nearly a year, I recently learned that he’s been doing a “Thomas Jack Presents” series, with some great tunes showcased, well worthy of checking out. The producer finally returned this past week with a brand new original named Rivers, a superb reminder why he was so heavily praised and warmly loved over a year ago. Rivers is an acoustic meets tropical dance song dripping in honeyed, hopeful sentiment, reminding me of some of the classics from the 80′s, but Balearic suffused. The beautiful tropical house song was co-produced by German producer JUNKX. Rivers is out now on Pete Tong’s FFRR records, and its the perfect summer anthem.

Although I loved that Amtrac opened up for Kygo when I went to catch his sold out show a couple weeks ago, another part of me was infinitely sad that Thomas Jack wasn’t opening, too, as he did on Kygo’s other Endless Summer tour stops lately. It’s obvious, Australian producer Thomas Jack is another huge name to be reckoned in within this huge meteoric rise of the genre known as tropical house. Honestly, I’ve been eagerly awaiting a new Thomas Jack track for quite some time now, and today, he gives us a tasty present, in the form of this chill, refreshing remix of MYNGA’s Back Home, featuring Cosmo Klein. It’s laid back yet sultry, full of heat yet so cool and smooth. Guitars and saxophone melt into each other in a seductive, jamming medley of bliss.
