From the glistening synths in the first few seconds of There For You, it was obvious There For You was going to be a rapturous listen. The song comes from Eves Karydas, an Australian native now living in London. 20 year old Eve pushed herself into unfamiliar relationships and environments, which resulted in a remarkable maturity and sense-of-self, both which present themselves in her effervescent pop song. Her smoky, husky, yet sonorous pop vocals shine brilliantly on There For You. She’s like a cross between Léon and Ellie Goulding, with the smoldering power of BANKS and a touch of Lana Del Rey allure. “There For You is my love letter to my life abroad. I was trying to form relationships as a new person in a foreign city away from friends and family, and yet everyone I met was already so deeply ingrained in their own lives and circles. It was so challenging,” says Eves. There For You’s music video, directed by Claire Gillen, oozes charisma and passion. There For You is out now on Dew Process/ Island Records. Stream/download, here.

The members of new Los Angeles outfit Blushh sure aren’t pulling any punches when it comes to their scuzzy enthralling guitar pop and indie rock. It’s been but a month since they gave us debut single I Don’t Want To Leave, and here they are already with a whole EP of fine tunes. The quartet, lead by Shab Ferdowsi, who’s joined by Fever Charm members Arieh Berl and Yianni Anastos-Prastacos as well as Kid Cadaver’s Kenzo Cardenas, is quickly turning ears and lighting up tastemakers’ eyes with their raw emotive, lo-fi melodious jams. Of the five track debut, our current favorite (key word: current) is There For You, a fuzzy bopping, angsty spirited anthem that falls somewhere between Vagabon’s candid indie rock and Diet Cig’s sweetly biting garage punk. You can stream Blushh’s debut EP It’s Fine on Soundcloud, here.
