Chicago mashup and remix experts The White Panda hones in on Lorde’s Perfect Places, one of so many great songs from recent album Melodrama, for their latest euphoric remix. Perfect Places gets a bright thrumming, electro swelling indie dance meets melodic house edit that takes us to a place more than perfect. Lorde has already gone a more luminous route with her latest album compared to her debut album. The White Panda emphasizes and boosts Perfect Places’ luminosity with their soaring, towering remix.

Some mighty fine remixes of FRND’s tender melting single Be Happy have been surfacing this past week, which comes as no surprise considering how mellifluously moving & melancholic stirring the Koala loving artist from Los Angeles proved himself to be on his fine electronic/pop piece. Chicago two piece The White Panda, whom we adore both for their remixing and mashup talent, has given Be Happy one of our favorite edits. They stay true to the original’s dewy eyed sentiment as they endow the track with an exhilarating dose of elastic purring, nimble springing energy. The White Panda’s regal thrumming, plump prancing remix is a free download, here.

This past weekend I went to her show in San Francisco and she’s such a great performer. This was one of the songs I wasn’t familiar with but instantly dug it. Now I found out The White Panda is one of the artists to do a remix for this new hit and once again The White Panda amazes me.

Spring can’t come any sooner, not only because I’m just not a winter sort of gal (I love sunshine, blue skies, and the great outdoors), but also because I get to see Brooklyn starlet VÉRITÉ once again as she visits San Francisco to headline Popscene on May 1st. Maybe she’ll perform her gorgeous electropop cover of The 1975′s Somebody Else. For now, I’m more than happy dancing to an amazing new remix of the cover by ever scintillating electronic duo The White Panda. It’s a grand and regal affair as The White Panda gives Somebody Else a resolute stomping, obstinate clattering trap workover. A heartsick melancholy rears itself from the thick of The White Panda’s resplendent soundscape, originating effusively from

VÉRITÉ’s vocals. It dresses their remix with a duality that reminds me of Robyn’s bittersweet yet vibrant Dancing On My Own. The White Panda’s triumphant remix is a free download, here.

Zayn pretty much rules the world right now. Nary a day goes by without hearing his name come up, and his debut solo album is literally dominating all of the music charts, everywhere. The latest single off that release, is of course, Like I Would, and Zayn has enlisted the help of Chicago’s The White Panda for a high energy dance remix of the song. The mashup and remix pros go future bass orchestral on their exultant remix. It marches valiantly and heroically, a triumphant and vociferous proclamation of love.

Rationale sits pretty in the top ranks of my artists to watch list. In fact, his San Francisco debut at Popscene in June might be my most highly anticipated summer show. The East Londoner’s incredible voice and soulful pop on last year’s Fuel To The Fire gets a high energy makeover from Chicago’s The White Panda. The duo take a surprisingly futuristic trap and passionate soul approach on the new remix alongside copious amounts of exhilarating synth erupting buildups. I didn’t think it was possible, but now I’m even more pumped to see Rationale perform later this year.

Somehow, despite its members balancing plenty of other exciting things in the dance scene, Chicago mashup kings The White Panda continue to defend their crown effortlessly with a fresh series of tracks. The duo have dropped three new thrillers, all of them available to stream on Soundcloud, including this one, a festively bright union between Years & Years and Galantis. Fireking is an eruption of empowering joy, a feel good smash of a mash. Download Fireking for free from The White Panda’s bandcamp.

There’s something about The White Panda that I just cannot get enough of. I literally got so hyped up when I saw they’ll be making a stop at The Regency Ballroom in SF December 27th and I’m the type who usually won’t get too pumped up about an event months away. I didn’t even fathom a new mashup album, the first one in 2.5 years! Spiritually prepping myself for the panda mashes.

Well, this one certainly brings together two things I’m much fond of. POWERS is one of my favorite new acts this year, having been featured on The Knocks’ Classic and dropped some endearing originals, including one of my top indie songs of the year, Beat Of My Drum. The Los Angeles duo’s most hooking song gets a gorgeous infusion of electro and progressive house energy via a radiant, uplifting remix by Chicago duo The White Panda. To be honest, I’ve been waiting for a good remix of Beat Of My Drum for some time now. Thank you, The White Panda. The slamming remix also reminds me yet again how much I love the original, and Powers. Download the remix for free, here. Then dance like nobody’s watching with me.

This is the third mash up that The White Panda has shared with us this week, one each day, and one by one, the Chicago duo has knocked ‘em straight out of the ballpark. One by one, they’ve delivered to us exhilarating tracks and surprise pairings that elevate or shed new light on each individual ingredient. So, what do the fellas have for us today? Just a killer track that brings together Kygo’s Conrad Sewell featuring Firestone and Misterwives’ Reflection. What they’ve dubbed Reflection Stone is the tropical Misterwives you’ve never heard, a brilliantly hued, rays of sunshine exuding amalgamation of Mandy Lee’s enchanting voice and Kygo’s island paradise.
