Pray For Me is too huge of a stellar tune not to give it some praise on IHM. It involves two of the biggest artists of the moment, hip hop genius Kendrick Lamar and R&B sensation The Weeknd. It’s no surprise that the pairing is so divine. Both artists bring the heat on the hip hop and electro-R&B track. Pray For Me will be on the soundtrack for Marvel’s Black Panther. The super stacked official soundtrack album arrives February 9th, while the film arrives February 16th.  Pre-order, here. You can also stream Pray For Me via Spotify, here.

Swedish trio Ember Island has built quite a reputation on the backs of their beautifully atmospheric covers. Those same covers have also translated into exceptional remixes. Manchester electronic duo VALES is the latest to take on remixing one of those covers. They’ve transformed Ember Island’s rendition of The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face into a shiver inducing future bass opus. VALES’ monumental remix is dramatic and majestic, a robustly oscillating masterpiece brimming with profound introspection and cathartic emotion. You can download their remix for free, here.

k?d’s swift ascent to production stardom has met all of the expectations had taken root in us since we first heard of the enigmatic young artist well over a year ago and called him a “Florida newcomer”. He went on to stun the dance music scene with genius remixes like his still mind blowing edit of Daft Punk’s Doin It Right before dropping the most profoundly expansive and near philosophically moving originals. Fresh off his performance at EDC Las Vegas comes this new k?d masterpiece, a remix of The Weeknd’s hit collaboration with Daft Punk, Starboy. As always, k?d’s track is a starry eyed, blissful soaring composition. The lavish sweeping, airy surging electro house and future bass hybrid channels Daft Punk and Porter Robinson, all at once. I’m still waiting for catch k?d over here in San Francisco, and I have a feeling by the time I finally get to, he’s going to be selling out some massive venues. His new remix is a free download, here.

Parisian producer Monsieur Adi, the man who previously gave us ravishing remixes of the likes of Lana Del Rey, Smallpools, and more, returns with his take on The Weeknd’s supermassive collaboration with Daft Punk. That’s right, Monsieur Adi brings the French touch to Starboy, and it’s glorious. The intense and extravagant makeover whisks us away on a cinematic roller coaster ride with its bouncy energy and lavish strings. Hit up some of Monsieur Adi’s other tracks on Soundcloud, here.

I know this one’s been going viral and passing around like mad all day long, but I can’t resist tossing it on for a quick share anyway. After all, it’s that Lana Del Rey and The Weeknd collaboration we all been waiting for since we caught wind of the rumored track earlier this year. Lust For Life is the title track from Lana Del Rey’s next album, and as expected, particularly with The Weeknd involved too, it’s a romantic sadcore anthem with lyrics like “only the good die young”. Lust For Life is available for purchase, here.

The very first official remix of The Weeknd’s smashing new Daft Punk produced single Starboy comes from none other than tropical house king Kygo. The Norwegian producer has been relatively quiet since the release of his star studded debut album Cloud Nine earlier this year, so this remix is most certainly a welcome return and unexpected surprise. Starboy gets the signature chill melodic, tropical balmy Kygo treatment. It’s the perfect way to transition our way into the weekend after a rather dramatic and glum week.

Some serendipitous YouTube adventuring lead me to this fabulous mashup earlier today, and flipboitamidles’ astute pairing of The Weeknd and Daft Punk’s Starboy with SURVIVE’s Stranger Things Theme (C418 Remix) is just too sumptuous a treat to keep all to myself. The mashup, entitled Stranger Boy, is a thrilling mixture of SURVIVE”s synthcore and The Weeknd’s velveteen R&B. You can snag this mysterious mashup artist’s tracks from his tumblr, here.

Everyone’s insanely excited about the new The Weeknd album, and there’s plenty of conjecture going on in regards to a The Weeknd and Daft Punk combination at Coachella next year. I have a feeling all the hoopla and commotion is only going to intensify as the month progresses and we draw closer to the release of Starboy. Before any of you The Weeknd fans have a full on heart attack, let Dirty Chocolate soothe it and give it some sweet sonic relief with a slow burning remix of the title track. Titled “Worst Mood”, this dreamy bedroom future bass edit features additional vocals by Abbi Press, whose soft smoldering voice adds a plush sensual touch to the tune. Dirty Chocolate’s sumptuous synth swelling late night reverie easily puts me in the “best mood”. Snag the track for free from Toneden.

The world nearly imploded last week when not only did new The Weeknd surfaced, but it turned out that Starboy was a collaborative effort with French legends Daft Punk! How one song could hold that much superstar power without bursting into flames is a wonder to behold. Now that the hubbub has died down a bit, some remixes and intepretations of Starboy are starting to surface. Los Angeles based production talent Matt Kali gives Starboy a thorough makeover by both remixing and covering the song. This airy bouncing, misty fluctuating version retains all the feels but in a more candid intimate and saccharine heartfelt future pop manner. Download Matt Kali’s Starboy, here.

Parisian production talent Tomsize made his remix of The Weeknd’s Lana Del Rey featuring Prisoner, one of my favorite Abel Tesfaye tunes, available on Soundcloud. This can only mean one thing: we must melt away to Abel’s creamy vocals and Tomsize’s ensnaring trap beats together in unison. Let’s close our eyes and hold hands to the endless feels on this sensational remix. Lana Del Rey and The Weeknd is heaven. Lana Del Rey, The Weeknd, and Tomsize is eternal nirvana.
