Strangers we certainly are not when it comes to The Ramona Flowers, the UK band who’ve enraptured us many times over with their oft 80′s inspired vibrant synthrock, indie electro, and dance rock. The Ramona Flowers are preparing to release a new album named Strangers, and we now get to twirl about to the title track, a funky strutting, electro-rocking, wavy lustrous jam reminiscent of early Cut Copy with a drizzle of Chromeo and a pinch of St. Lucia. Strangers relishes that special moment when you meet someone new and have an instant connection. The new music video for Strangers features America’s Got Talent finalist KidtheWiz. You can also stream Strangers via Deezer and Spotify, here.

I try very hard to stay on top of the immense amount of new music that surfaces every day of the year, but as you can imagine, it’s quite the impossible task. It came as a huge surprise to me today when I realized I’d completely missed the fact that The Ramona Flowers has been releasing new music, particularly since I’m so fond of the UK outfit and their music (and that they named themselves after the character from Scott Pilgrim). As it turns out, The Ramona Flowers are preparing to release their sophomore album, and Skies Turn Gold is their ravishing new single from the record. The warmly pulsing number certainly nods at the 80′s with its neon synths and elastic beats. Skies Turn Gold is catchy and exuberant, an effulgent combustion of dance ready synthpop. The song comes with a cinematic video inspired by its lyrics.  The Ramona Flowers’ new album Part Time Spies will be out on September 9th. I’ve already added it to my album musts list despite just finding out about it this morning.

I’ve been pretty huge on new UK indie rockers The Ramona Flowers, and I’ve already pre-ordered their debut album Dismantle and Rebuild, out July 13 on Distiller Records. Now that propulsive single Vultures has this uber cool and cinematic music video to go along with it, I must re-share the bold track that has the grand magnificence of a U2 stadium anthem.

We don’t have too much longer to wait before alt rockers The Ramona Flowers release their debut album Dismantle & Rebuild. The album comes out July 14 on Distiller Records. I still recall how amused I initially was by the band’s name (being a Scott Pilgrim fan, myself), and I was duly impressed by their fantastic sound the moment I checked them sound out. Vultures is the latest taste and next single off the forthcoming album, and it’s a powerful, explosive rock song. There’s a magnificent, stadium potent sound that greatly reminded me of U2, with a touch of the Boss thrown in. Vultures follows on the heels of the previously featured, synthrocky, more subtle and moodier Tokyo. I’ll reshare it below.

The Ramona Flowers has released a stunning video to accompany their latest single, the brooding, simmering electro-rock single Tokyo. The single will be out April 21. It comes with remixes by Alt-J and Eagles For Hands. I’m looking forward to the remixes, particularly Alt-J’s. I also really dig The Ramona Flowers’ heavily U2 and Radiohead influenced sound, as well as their Scott Pilgrim inspired band name.

Aside from having one of the coolest band names ever (Scott Pilgrim fan right here), UK act The Ramona Flowers also put forth some fantastic music. Their electro-rock is heavily influenced by the likes of U2 and Radiohead, and it’s ever apparent in their new single Tokyo. The propulsive tune is off their debut album Dismantle and Rebuild. The single drops on April 21 with remixes by Alt-J and Eagles for Hands. I can’t wait to hear Alt-J’s interpretation of the track.
