Last week, buttery alt R&B singer songwriter Sylo Nozra dropped his EP, Fervor. Let’s dim the lights and sway our hips to this gooey luscious, dapper swooning cut off the fine album. Meadows, which features Parisian producer Art Of Shades, warms the heart and leaves us dizzy flushed with its creamy electro-R&B and swanky heat. It’s a Tom Misch, Allan Rayman, and RKCB charmer, all rolled up in one jazzy posh jam. Stream Sylo Nozra’s Fervor EP in full on Soundcloud, here, or Spotify, here.

Emerging Toronto artist Sylo Nozra first appeared on my radar with his amazing cover of Drake hit Hotline Bling, but he now melts my heart with a velveteen clarion voice on new song Two of Us. The slow burning alt R&B ballad simmers in a minimalist electronic soundscape, giving his voice bounteous space to swoon handsomely. Two of Us is available for purchase from Bandcamp. I don’t know what’s in Toronto’s water, but as I’ve mentioned before, there always seems to be a steady stream of incredible R&B and soul talent from that city.

By now, many people may be a little worn out by how ubiquitously present Drake’s Hotline Bling seems to be, ROFL inducing memes of his video included. Let’s switch things up a bit with a phenomenal remix cover of the tune by a 22 year old producer, vocalist, and artist from Toronto named Sylo Nozra. This Hotline Bling is even more sensual and provocative with its sweet electro soul and R&B charm. Velveteen vocals and grooving smoothness reminiscent of a swooning blend of The Weeknd, Childish Gambino, Toro Y Moi, and Frank Ocean gives new dusky, frisky life to Hotline Bling. Sylo Nozra even inserts some Can’t Feel My Face near the end of the track, and it’s some hot, steamy goodness. Free download, here.
