There’s nothing better than a warm dose of surf rock sunshine and jangle pop bliss, which is exactly what Swimming Tapes seems to have perfected on the English band’s latest single Alison. A dreamy nostalgic gust of glistening guitars and dewy vocals washes in with the tide as the slightest hint of angular post-punk keeps us on our sand kissed toes. Hints of Beach Fossils, DIIV, Day Wave, and Wild Nothing can be found in this sublime gem. Alison was the final track revealed ahead of the release of Swimming Tapes’ sophomore EP Soft Sea Blue last Friday. You can grab the single from iTunes, here. Their new EP is out on B3SCI.

When my eyes were met by new Swimming Tapes sitting in our inbox this morning, I couldn’t help but break out into a warm smile. There was no doubt in my mind that the ever reliable indie pop band would light up our day with yet another one of their gazey swirling, dreamy shimmering song. Sure enough, Swimming Tapes’ What’s On Your Mind is a blissed out gust of languorous dream pop and sun kissed guitar pop.  What’s On Your Mind is a taste from the London based band’s forthcoming EP, Soft Sea Blue, out September 15th. I’m sure it’s going to leave the welcome taste of summer in the air even as we wade forth into the cool days of autumn. What’s On Your Mind is out now via Hand in Hive / B3SCI. Snag the heavenly ditty from iTunes, here. You can pre-order Swimming Tapes’ Soft Sea Blue EP, here.

My ears are ever fond of swimming in the drafty indie pop that comes by way of ever charming British indie pop purveyors Swimming Tapes. They eagerly dive into the warm waters found on dreamy new single Queen’s Parade. A shimmering ocean of gazy swirling bliss engulfs us, leaving us floating in sweet euphoria to the single which was produced by Adam Jaffrey (Palace, Gengahr, Leif Erikson). Having been glued to Slowdive’s new album this past week, I find my magical shoegaze and nostalgic dream pop trip extended by this fine band from London. Queen’s Parade is out now on Hand In Hive / B3SCI. Grab the single from iTunes, here.

In a few short days, Swimming Tapes will be dropping their new EP, Souvenirs. Cameos is their latest preview of that treat, a warm draft of sunshine and summer nostalgia. The London based indie pop band soak us with bittersweet guitar pop reminiscent of Day Wave and DIIV but more soft and misty. A peppy beat and effulgent jangles makes this the perfect head bopping confection. I’m left yearning for blue skies and long lazy afternoons. Swimming Tapes EP, Souvenirs, will arrive on Friday, January 27th. You can purchase Cameos as a single from iTunes.

Swimming Tapes never fails at intoxicating me with the London based band’s dreamy drifting celestial guitar pop. New song Tides is a misty breeze that carries within its gust a wealth of sweet nostalgia. The lo-fi jangler’s golden rays evoke Real Estate, Day WAve, and Beach Fossils. Tides is out now via Hand In Hive. You can purchase it from iTunes. Re-visit Swimming Tapes prior two sterling tunes on Soundcloud.
