It’s a grand scale bi-coastal affair when Miami’s Lookas and Los Angeles’ JayKode unite on an SHM remix. And by grand, I mean monumental. Swedish House Mafia’s Leave The World Behind, featuring Deborah Cox, goes cosmic trap on their beast of an edit. Whether SHM is reuniting and making a heralded return or not doesn’t really matter for at least four minutes forty eight seconds, thanks to JayKode and Lookas stunning behemoth of a taut thrilling remix. Adrenaline rushes through my veins as I find myself glued to this exhilarating and entrancing edit. I’ve left the world, far far below. Download the majestic re-work for free from Toneden.

So, guess who covered Swedish House Mafia? Autograf! The Chicago electronic act has created one helluva delicious, balmy jam out of SHM’s massive banger One. The magical take even has some future house flavors along with its warm tropical vibe. I just want to sink into it and forget all my worries. So… blissful…

This one’s been really making the rounds for the past several days, but it’s simply too exhilarating not to fit in for an opulent share. Coldplay’s A Sky Full Of Stars is obviously one of the hits of summer, with its glorious, uplifting swells and Avicii’s massive electronic production. If you thought it couldn’t get anymore natural high inducing than it already had potential to be, Hardwell, of SHM of course, has remixed the tune. Yep, get ready for a bonafide feel good banger, coming your way.

Pentatonix a cappella cover of SHM

January 11, 2013

Yep, I’ve seen this floating around for the past week or two, but finally decided to throw it on here. It’s pretty rad. I’m sure we all agree that Swedish House Mafia’s Save The World and Don’t You Worry Child are very, very catchy and fun songs. Pentatonix created an a cappella mashup cover that kicks some major butt, beat boxing included.

Acoustic Swedish House Mafia???

September 7, 2012

You didn’t read that wrong. This IS an acoustic version of a SHM song. Didn’t think this would ever happen, did ya? I mean, come on, it’s Swedish House Mafia! But indeed, here it is, an acoustic version of Don’t You Worry Child featuring John Martin. It actually works very well, revealing the emotion and a more human quality underneath the layers of bass and synthlines. It’s quite beautiful, in fact. I wonder if this means SHM might try to throw out more stripped down music in the future that strays from their usual first pumping dance floor trax?

Here’s the original dance track:

Swedish House Mafia X Usher

June 5, 2012

I can see how this might be extremely polarizing, but I, for one, enjoyed this collaboration very much. Sure, it’s not something groundbreaking and sounds like some other house music made for clubs and EDM fests these days, but Usher’s vocals are great on this and it’s a very melodic, catchy Swedish House Mafia produced track with some mad, though predictable, beats. It’s a good tune, it really is. And I can imagine this getting slowed down and thickened into something very melodramatic and dark. Someone chop and screw it!

Coachella sets

April 16, 2012

Alllllright… just for you guys, I’ll throw these together on one post. It’s not everything, but it’s some of the great sets that came from weekend 1 of Coachella. I won’t comment on each one, that’ll take too long plus I still have to view some of these. I already shared St Vincent’s set in a previous post, so not including again here. Please note, I can’t guarantee all these work later in the day as the suits at Coachella will probably put the smack down on these uploads/shares.
