It’s been awhile since I’ve listened to Kanye West’s Power, that iconic song off his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Australia’s Joe Mason brings it back with a fresh new edit that melds his remix of Stalgia’s BDY together with the Kanye original. The end chimera is a unique and charged experience, a rhythmic driving, expansive and cinematic future bass anthem interwoven with orchestral grandeur and an abundance of Ye intensity. Stalgia released their debut album NOMAD last week, and the title of this song off the ten track record certainly sums up the Los Angeles duo’s music succinctly. Electric is song two on the must listen record. It’s a ravishing electronic pop piece with an 80′s undercurrent of dreamy nostalgia, which is fitting considering the band’s name. Plucky guitars give the glossy pumping gem a frisky vibrancy. We know our night is going to be electrifying with a song like this one from electronic duo Stalgia to keep us company. Debut album NOMAD can be streamed off Soundcloud, here.

Los Angeles duo Stalgia are back to send us to seventh heaven with a smoldering brooder of an electronic pop track named Talk To My Skin. Smoky burning R&B pop vocals reminiscent of BANKS are met by shadowy burbling, dark dramatic electronic production evocative of SOHN on the hypnotic and sensual sojourn. Talk To My Skin feels cavernous and expansive, yet intimate and taut. Stalgia, consisting of childhood friends Lauren Day and Brandon Leslie, express dark thoughts and light desires on their provocative new single. The acclaimed duo is building towards their EP, entitled NOMAD, which will surely make a resonant splash when it arrives this fall.

I’m still very much addicted and obsessed with Stalgia’s BDY, a lustful and suspenseful, flushed and provocative fusion of atmospheric electronica, sensual R&B, and entrancing hip hop beats. The Los Angeles based duo recently release a music video for BDY which you can view below. An incredible remix package for BDY also surfaced last week, off which comes this electrifying edit by Joe Mason. BDY’s future bass and melodic trap transformation is nothing short of grand and dramatic. The Sydney producer endows BDY with precipitous drops and regal surges. This BDY is so panoptic sweeping that it’s more “bodies” than “body”… lots and lots of bodies, moving together in exultant euphoria. Joe Mason’s official BDY remix is available from various sources, here

Precarious desire hangs thick in the air and dangerous lust simmers potently on BDY, a new single from recently Crooked Paintings signed Los Angeles duo Stalgia. I swear my skin is flushed and my palms are sweaty as Lauren Day coos sensually in this foggy provocative fusion of entrancing R&B, rhythmic hip hop beats, and atmospheric electronica. Stalgia describes BDY as “a trip down the bad side of a good mind.”

Though I’m actually not a huge fan of champagne myself (the bubbly tends to tire me out and give me headaches), an occasional mimosa is a heavenly treat, plus the drink usually reminds me of brunch, my favorite egg-y meal of the day. Stalgia’s “Heaven + Mimosas” enwraps us in just as much, if not even more bliss. The Los Angeles duo makes a dreamy lush return on the heels of dark burning In The Trees, a song that left countless tastemaker hearts aflutter with excitement earlier this year. Stalgia swoops us into the clouds with their follow up. The misty R&B and fleecy pop on this reverie inducing confection waft through the air weightlessly, like ephemeral cotton candy. We melt into it, unable to untangle ourselves ever again.

Stalgia’s In The Trees is a dark looming beauty, a lush soundscape of seductive electro R&B from the gifted Los Angeles duo. It’s that magnificent tune upon which San Francisco by way of Los Angeles production talent Andrew Luce fixates for his regal new remix. The wavy trap and cinematic future bass remix takes us on a slow prowling march of seething grandeur. Andrew Luce’s remix is out now on iTunes.
