This is one of the more wonky and heady remixes I’ll be sharing with you today, and I love it, very much. Brooklyn indie five piece Rubblebucket’s Sound Of Erasing is my second favorite song off their recent album Survival Sounds. The brilliant Chrome Sparks has taken the artsy indie pop tune and created an other worldly, intoxicating experience out of it. If you’re not familiar with Sound Of Erasing, the off kilter sound in the beginning might throw you off in the beginning, but let the music wash over you, and you’ll find yourself drifting in some deep, profound, hidden recesses of your mind as the song progresses. It’s spacious and oddly foreign, yet so satisfying.

Whenever I think of The M Machine, I’m brought back to their noon set at Outside Lands Music Festival two years ago. It was one of the most killer, energetic sets I’ve ever caught that early at a festival. I just recall briskly walking, almost running, over to the stage after entering to catch the San Francisco electronic act, and watching the crowd get down, big time. We haven’t heard from them for awhile now, but this week, they surfaced with a remix of Brooklyn indie pop five piece Rubblebucket’s Sound Of Erasing. On the remix, they retain Rubblebucket’s very artsy and style. In fact, they add to that unique, quirky allure with their off kilter bleeps and sugary playfulness. It’s a bizarrely good blend of indie electronic sound, proving The M Machine’s musical prowess and envelope pushing skills.

For a woozy, thumping tune, Rubblebucket offer up their great new single Carousel Ride, the title track from the Brooklyn five piece’s new EP, out on Communion August 11. It’s a powerful, commanding song with the added allure of some fantastic brass and Kalmia Traver’s sweet vocals. The artsy pop act also has a new full length due out August 26, titled Survival Sounds. Sound of Erasing is a taste off the album, as well as yet another hook laden, vivacious treat.
