Norwegian producer Sonny Alven spellbinds and enchants with his crystalline and glacial electronica and pop on lusciously chilled new single Backseat Lovin’. It’s soft and mellifluous, with dulcet and sultry vocals. Backseat Lovin’ follows on Sonny’s various 2017 successes, including his collaboration with Dragonette, Awake, his song with GOLDENS, Cool With You, and his acclaimed Girls EP.

“I wrote ‘Backseat Lovin’ together with another songwriter in Stockholm,” says Sonny. “We wanted to create this slow and beautiful song, inspired by the mid 90’s. It was just one of those perfect days in the studio, where everything worked out. I couldn’t be happier with how it all came about.” The wispy and diaphanous floater showcases Sonny Alven’s delicate production skills. Purchase/stream the single via all major platforms, here.

Freshly rising Norwegian producer Sonny Alven couldn’t have chosen better inspiration for his new single, California Girls. Sonny turns to German by way of Los Angeles talent NoMBe’s song of the same name for a dusty sunset rework perfect for the end of summer. I can nearly feel a coastal breeze on the nape of my neck as I sway away to soothing refreshing California Girls. NoMBe’s song has gone chill house in a plucky mellow, luxurious entrancing fashion. I need to take this track to the beach and dance away on the sandy shore as an orange sun sinks on the horizon. Watch a lyric video for NoMBe vs Sonny Alven’s California Girls below.

Astrid S’ Hurts So Good appealed to me even before I first heard the song a few short months ago. How can you go wrong with a twisted name like that? Soon enough, the chanteuse enslaved me with her ethereal aching electropop. Fellow Norwegian producer Sonny Alven has given Hurts So Good a lighter bounce in a summer airy, fluffy flushed makeover. The deep melodic remix shines brilliantly, much like a Jack Ü meets Gryffin anthem hiding heart rending, bittersweet undercurrents. Sonny Alven’s blissful remix can also be streamed on Spotify.

Earlier this year, Norway’s Sonny Alven and Didrik Thulin partnered up on a massive summery piano house anthem entitled Fading. The feel good jam has since been remixed by a producer from San Antonio, Texas named MKJ. His re-imagining of Fading ripples and flitters delicately, an airy and breezy new approach on the original. Its deep melodic house are much future vibes imbued. MKJ has crafted a euphoria oozing gem, a cinematic Eden brimming with incandescent tropical warmth.

This jam has been floating about for a short while now, but it’s far too fetching of an original from Norwegian producer Sonny Alven not to throw on “deck” right now for a blissful dance party. Our Youth, despite being about fears of fading youth, is as springy and full of life as can be. It features gorgeous vocals by oft IHM featured London based singer songwriter Emmi, whose husky voice is a perfect fit for the deep house anthem. Let this one brighten your day and make the world seem like your happy playground, “if only for today”.

It’s a gorgeous Sunday morning right now as I post this, and it feels even more beautiful while listening to Norwegian producer Sonny Alven’s latest original, Irregular Love, featuring English folk pop singer songwriter Corey Fox-Fardell with the honeyed, emotive vocals. The chill and deep house song is genuinely heartfelt, giving me bittersweet tingles of wistful bliss. The crisply tranquil beauty is also available on Spotify.

I’m no stranger to Norway’s Sonny Alven, but fellow Norwegian AWR is new on my map. Turns out, the songwriter who likes making deep acoustic tunes is a perfect pairing to Sonny Alven’s production talent on new single, Darkness. Loads of swelling strings, touching piano, and deep bass combine with rousing vocals to paint a hopeful musical picture of heart rending, emotionally charged, and organic electronic beauty. Download Darkness for free, here, and let it lead you into the light.

London based SOHN was easily a top favorite producer and musical talent of mine in 2014. He’s also responsible for dropping one of my top albums of 2014, Tremors. It’s been awhile since I’ve listened to any of his brilliant tracks, but this wicked remix of Bloodflows by Norwegian production act Sonny Alven, I found myself diving head first into dark, hypnotizing euphoria yet again. It’s a soft and gentle edit that does the original much justice by not taking it into blaring raucous EDM levels of bass. Instead, the chill house remix waxes elegant and plush.
